The 2004 United States Presidential Election

Appeal to the hearts and minds of Americans

 

What Americans have learned from the Clinton and Bush presidencies is that transparency is the order of the day.  Whether the exposure is a president’s personal moral indiscretion with a White House intern or the pretense to go to war against another nation with faulty intelligence data or a personal family vendetta, the results are the same.  Welcome John Kerry to the world of American politics.  For students awaiting the coming of the Messiah, we have to consider one thing, in the future life in a heavenly dimension or a millennium kingdom, political bargaining in the cloak-rooms of Congress will not be allowed with a Messiah ruling with a ‘rod of iron’.  Right will be right.  Wrong will be wrong.  The consequences of one’s decision will not be coated with shades of grey and  the judge of morality will be Messiah of the Jews, Jesus the Nazarene.  Government under the King of kings and Lord of lords will be in service to the Lord of the Universe.  As the Prophet Isaiah said,

 

Isaiah 66:23 – “And it shall come to pass that from one New Moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me, saith the Lord.” 

 

What we witness today is the great dividing of the peoples of the world.  This nation was divided in 2000 when George Bush was given the presidency of United States by a ruling of the Supreme Court of the United States.  Bush won the electoral votes of the State of Florida and thus the vote of the Electoral College while at the same time he lost the popular vote of the citizens of America.  On that year, 2000, many citizens of the United States lost faith in the electoral process of their country.  What will happen this year?  Will 2004 be the year that the citizens of the United States loose faith in their elected leaders?

 

In the last four years, across the political landscape around the world, one country after another has found their citizens polarized during their national elections. The Nation of Israel is deeply polarized today.  Even as the ‘radial axis of the world’, the citizens of Israel cannot accept their national mandate given to them by their God, “Choose you this day whom you will serve. If the Lord be God, follow Him.” 

 

The anticipated winner of the Spain’s recent election was reversed by a terrorist act in Madrid.  The former political arena of statesmanship is more and more becoming an arena of brinkmanship and finding division rather than unity. The nations are being divided by fear of a terrorist threat  At the same time, in America what we are seeing is not an appeal for the hearts of minds of the citizens of America but the strident force of ideas trying to overwhelm ones political opponent with power and coercion. 

 

America is becoming confused.  Citizens have long thought that the political election process was to provide the facts of governance to its people and let them vote what kind of president they wished to govern them for the next four years.  What happens when one political party get too far to the right or the left of the American public?  We have just listened to the Democrats give their best political face to the American electorate and what did they hear?  Under the Democratic them of “Take America Back”, they heard former President Bill Clinton state that Democrats want to build a better world and an America that believed in shared benefits and shared responsibilities.  We heard the vice president candidate, John Edwards, describe a ‘classless society’ while the presidential hopeful, John Kerry, reported to duty as the potential Commander in Chief appealing to his sterling credentials as a young American ready and willing to serve his country and doing so with honor and great valor

 

Are not these values noble and honorable?  Of course! But how do these values merge with the same political party that values the choice of a young woman to choose sex without responsibility without considering rights of a fetus to live life as one of God’s own sons and daughters.  Would Mary, the mother of Jesus, been honored and “blessed” in our society if she had chosen to abort the fetus of Jesus?  How will these values of the same political party who demand equal rights for “same sex union” as for the “union of man and woman” appeal to the God of the Universes who designed the symbiotic union of male and female to form the matrix of human society and promote the creative principle of the ‘image of God’ in real human acts of living?  Does a ‘classless society’ without appeal to the Divine mean the same as “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”? 

 

The political airways over the last two weeks have been strident in their polarity as both political parties demean each other.  Where is the process of thoughtfulness, pondering of higher wisdom, and appeal to the God of the Universe for guidance in this country that carries the mantle of begin the strongest and most powerful nation on earth?  Has our introspection of power and control allowed us to forget that we are but servants of God and that the nation that evokes the motto, “In God we trust” should be a ‘servant of the people’

 

May we suggest that the ‘Light of mercy and goodness’ is fading around us and that the young lad, Timothy,  that the Apostle Paul took in his custodial care may have been looking at America in 2004 when he wrote:

 

2 Timothy 3:1-5 – “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”

 

Republican National Convention

 

Within days, the Republican National Convention will begin in New York City.  Unprecedented security will be surrounding this mega-city, yet even so holes in the security are readily apparent.  New York’s busiest subway goes directly under the convention center where the RNC is being held.  Will it be closed during this time?  No! The United States is under significant security while the nation braces for the possible onslaught of al Qaeda acts of violence in the days from the RNC in New York till November 4, 2004.  The question that haunts everyone’s mind, will the al Qaeda attempt to bring a bombing disaster in order the swing the presidential election in America like they did in Spain? 

 

The President of the United States has officially been announced as the target of an al Qaeda assassination attempt.  According to information gleaned from the computer of recently arrested al Qaeda computer operator Muhammad Naeem Noor Khan of Pakistan, the highest priority are assassinations in the United States and foreign leaders in America, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.  What are their goals: to interrupt the emerging American economy and alter with chaos the U.S. election.  If the “al Qaeda” could vote today, their slogan would be, “Anyone but Bush.” 

 

Are we witnessing in our world today the unfolding of the second seal of Revelation?

 

Revelation 6:3 – “When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, ‘Come and see.’  Another horse, fiery red, went out.  Ant it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another: and there was given to him a great sword.” 

 

U.N. Approved American Elections?

 

Has the sovereignty of the United States been abrogated by the State Department of the Bush administration?  In July 2, 13 Democratic congressmen urged by letter to the United Nations Secretary Kofi Annan to send a U.N. delegation to monitor the elections of the United States.  The U.N. Secretary refused this request under the premise that the request would have to come from the executive offices of the United States.  Collin Powell and the State Department in tern requested that the 55 nation body of the U.N., the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) be invited to monitor the election, determine any electoral problem and propose resolutions to any conflict.  In short, the socialist’s democracies of Russia, France and Spain could be seen as a higher authority to any American election irregularities than constitutionally abiding citizens of the United States. Is America willing to be put under the microscope by the world community and be judged by their social and political systems? 

 

The World Watches as America Elects

 

Not within our generation has the world at large been so consumed with passion and feeling about the outcome of the 2004 American elections.  While the Middle East has been affected most directly by the foreign policy of the Bush Administration, the continent that is aflame with rhetoric and opinion is Europe.  The French and the European political rhetoric has not been cordial to George Bush this past year. Would Kerry at the presidential helm, recognized in Europe as having a “multilateral and internationalists” approach to diplomacy, mend those bridges and move forward the thrust of the prophetic One World Order at the time of the end?

 

Kerry pledges to restore trust - '... And that starts by telling the truth to the American people' – July 29, 2004
WorldNetDaily - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, under fire for using re-enactments of war footage and film he pledged never to use in a campaign, tonight pledged to restore trust in the White House and tell the truth to the American people.

"We have it in our power to change the world again," he said. "But only if we're true to our ideals - and that starts by telling the truth to the American people. That is my first pledge to you tonight. As President, I will restore trust and credibility to the White House."

Kerry went on to call into question, once again, whether President Bush was honest with the American people about the situation in Iraq.

 

"I will be a commander in chief who will never mislead us into war," he said. "I will have a vice president who will not conduct secret meetings with polluters to rewrite our environmental laws. I will have a secretary of defense who will listen to the best advice of our military leaders. And I will appoint an attorney general who actually upholds the Constitution of the United States."  Kerry attempted to portray an upbeat Democratic Party and campaign that has, at times, been criticized for polarizing and negativity.

 

"We can do better and we will," he said. "We're the optimists. For us, this is a country of the future. We're the can do people. And let's not forget what we did in the 1990s. We balanced the budget. We paid down the debt. We created 23 million new jobs. We lifted millions out of poverty and we lifted the standard of living for the middle class. In Europe, passionate cheering for Kerry – July 27, 2004

London – International Herald Tribune - Most European historians and political pundits agree that it has been a long time, at least a generation, since the world has felt so consumed with passion about an American election, and since so many have been so hopeful of regime change in Washington. This year, they say, there is one place where the choice between John Kerry and George W. Bush will indeed have a profound impact, and interestingly it is not the Middle East. It is Europe. Timothy Garton Ash, director of the European Studies Center at Oxford, argues that the ‘‘wrenching confrontation’’ between Europe and America over the war in Iraq has plunged the world into crisis and made this ‘‘a formative election for the world.’’ If Bush is re-elected, Garton Ash said, his perceived unilateral approach to the international community and willingness to flout international law will cause Europe ‘‘to define ourselves against America…’’

But if the winner is Kerry, who is perceived as having a multilateral and internationalist approach to diplomacy, he said, the European Union is more likely to develop ‘‘in concert’’ with the United States, to look to it as a partner in the economy and security and to focus on what the two sides of the Atlantic have in common. A West European diplomat in Washington said: ‘‘There will be a sense of relief in Europe if Kerry is elected. He has a very different style than Bush, and a very different instinct as an internationalist. And in diplomacy, style is substance…’’

The newly enlarged European Union, which is in the process of adopting a constitutional treaty, is coordinating a new foreign and security policy, and seeking to redefine its role in the Middle East and the Caucasus. While Europe has been grappling with this process over the last three years, Bush has alienated many Europeans. Even before the Iraq rift, Bush rejected the Kyoto protocols on global warming and enacted steel tariffs that defied America’s free-market rhetoric.

‘‘If Bush is defeated, Europe will say this was a difficult period, but an aberration,’’ Everts said. ‘‘Four more years of Bush, however, will have a long-term impact on European policy, and the development of a permanent rift between the U.S. and Europe.’’ One crucial foreign policy difference between Kerry and Bush, he added, is that Kerry would disconnect the war in Iraq from the wider war on terror — a linkage the Bush administration has repeatedly asserted exists but that Europe has never bought. ‘‘If we can disconnect that, it would unlock potential for cooperation in the future between America and Europe,’’ Everts said.  Europeans hold a very negative view of this White House. The Lord speaks when America’s Presidents act against

“The Land of Israel”

 

With the Republican National Convention about to convene, the political rhetoric will turn towards George W. Bush as he presents his vision for the next four years.  On the other hand for prophecy watchers and BibleSearchers, this month an interesting voice has been heard, the voice of the Lord of hosts.  Most of us can agree that one thing that the Lord of hosts can do and man cannot mimic is to control the catastrophic forces of nature.  These ‘catastrophic forces’ to many people are called the “Acts of God”.  It may be an earthquake, a volcano, a typhoon or a hurricane.  In fact, the earthquake is featured very vividly in the apocalyptic Book of Revelation as one of the signs that the Lord of hosts is intervening in the lives of man, especially the Great Earthquakes associated with the 6th and the 7th Seals.

 

White House correspondent Bill Koenig, author of the recently published book, “Eye to Eye – Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel”, in his August 23, 2004 International Newsletter, Koenig’s Eye View from the White House, he examines the convergence of the Bush Administration applying major pressure on the government of PM Sharon in Israel to expedite the exodus of the Jews from the covenant land of Israel while Hurricane Charley in a freak turn of nature makes a devastating toll on the state of Florida that is governed by Bush’s brother, Florida Governor Jeb Bush. 

 

It appears that whenever the Bush Administration becomes actively involved in the Middle East Peace Process and forces Israel to unilaterally agree to give up her land for the international illusion of “Peace”, a disaster or natural catastrophe will occur. 

 

For more than a decade the evidence keeps mounting.  These “Acts of God” include: the “Perfect Storm” in October 30, 1991, when the strongest storm and the largest waves ever to crash on the coast of Maine severely damaged the Kennebunkport home of President George Bush Sr. while he was convening the Madrid (Spain) Conference.  Here they were beginning the first “land for peace” process that would embroil the Nation of Israel to this day; Hurricane Andrew (1992), the largest natural disaster in America with $30 billions in damage occurred as the Madrid Conference was moved to Washington DC; Hurricane George (1998) slams into the Gulf Coast while the final details were completed for Israel to give up 13% of Judah and Samaria (Yesha) and President Bush Sr., Yasser Arafat and Netanyahu were meeting at the White House;  25% of Texas Flooded (1998), Bush Sr’s home state, while the Arafat and Netanyahu met at Wye River Plantation in Maryland; the most powerful Super Tornado (1999) with 316 mph winds in Oklahoma and Kansas on the very day the Yasser Arafat was scheduled to declare a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital; 911 catastrophe at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon (most expensive insurance event in history of $30 - $50 billion) caused predominately by Saudi nationals on the same day that Secretary of State Colin Powell was to speak to the United Nations General Assembly on the most comprehensive cooperative Peace Plan for Israel and the Palestinians to be sponsored by the Saudi royal family and George Bush Jr.; the First Anthrax Case in 25 Years in Washington D.C. on the same day that President Bush Jr. endorsed a Palestinian state.  This crisis cost the United States billions of dollars with the shutdown of major governmental buildings in D.C. and subsequent destabilization of the American government. 

 

It is not the “still small voice” that the American administration is refusing to listen.  It is the shout of the Lord of host with the voice of thunder and quaking that gave America 49 catastrophic events between October 30, 1991 and November 4, 2003 while the American government was embroiled in forcing Israel to give up her land for the promise of Peace.  Was this not the same land that was promised to the forefathers of the Jews: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?  These catastrophic events included the top ten natural disasters ranked by FEMA relief costs, the three largest insurance events in U.S. history, four of the seven costliest hurricanes in U.S. history and three of the four largest tornado outbreaks in U.S. history

 

While Tropical Depression Two was forming in the Atlantic east of the Lesser Antilles, Elliott Abrams from the office of Condoleezza Rice, Daniel Kurtzer as US Ambassador to Israel and officials from the State Department and the White House, over the first two weeks in August, 2004 were forcibly reminding the Sharon government in Israel to remove security roadblocks that were preventing homicide terrorists from entering Israel.  At the same time, America was erecting security roadblocks in New York to prevent terrorists from moving into New York during the Republican National Convention. 

 

The Bush Administration, at the same time, was applying significant pressure pushing Israel to quickly evacuate “illegal” or rather unauthorized settlement outposts (according to Moslem and European international opinion), decrease construction in approved settlements areas, releasing hundreds of millions of shekels demanded of Israel to be paid to the Palestinian Authority and the quick and complete evacuation of all unauthorized outposts before the November 2004 American elections.  Rarely has one sovereign nation unilaterally applied so much pressure to another sovereign nation for political concessions to support the election of an incumbent president. 

 

Hurricane Charley makes landfall at North Captiva Island, Pine Island and into Charlotte Harbor Friday, Aug. 13, 2004.

 

Then on August 10, 2004, while President Bush nominated Florida Congressman Porter Goss to be the new Director of the CIA and America was pushing Israel to finalize evacuation of Yesha outposts, a loosely organized Tropical Depression Two called Bonnie headed towards the Florida Panhandle with only 45 mph winds.  Then along came Charley following the same route.  Quickly intensifying, Tropical Storm Charley headed towards the same Florida Panhandle while the Sharon government was in crisis over the looming Likud Party vote on the Gaza disengagement plan.  Sharon was soon to isolate himself at his ranch prior to the vote, Vice Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was calling for more Israeli settlements to be evacuated than the four Gaza settlements and Israel Defense Force (IDF) Chief was hinting that Golan Heights was not needed and could be given back to Syria. 

 

Within seventy two hours, Hurricane Charley, now a Category 4 almost 5 mega-hurricane suddenly veered to the right and headed into Charlotte Harbor, seventy miles south of predicted landfall, and into the congressional district of the newly nominated CIA Director Porter Goss.  While upwards to 800,000 Floridians were fleeing up from the south, they were suddenly trapped as Charley quickly turned east and headed inland. 

 

By Saturday, August 15, Governor Jeb Bush announced, “Our worst fears have come true.”  $15 billion in damages, one million without power, 10,000 homeless and 19 dead, was anyone listening to the “voice of the Lord”? Does anyone accept that the Lord is actually speaking?  Within days of Hurricane Charley, Osama bin Laden threatens New York and the life of George Bush, al-Qaeda allies are spotted scouting U.S. targets, a full scale rebellion by Cleric Muqtada al-Sadr is in full swing with a major invasion by American-Allied forces surrounding the Mosque in Najaf, Israeli government officials are accusing Israeli extremists of threatening Sharon’s life, Iran is aiming its missiles towards Israel with U.S. GPS technology given to China by former president Bill Clinton, Shimon Perez pulls out of the proposed coalition government with Sharon so that full scale evacuation of Gaza could commence without the Likud vote and the Sharon government is on the verge of collapse. 

 

Did not Jesus say, “He that has eyes, let him see and he that has ears, let him hear.”

Will Republican convention be a Chicago '68 madhouse? – August 16, 2004 - Activist Tom Hayden pledges disruptions 'bigger by a thousand fold' for RNC
WorldNetDaily.com - Tom Hayden, one of the central organizers of sometimes violent, civil disobedience protests at the Democratic National Convention in 1968, is pledging to disrupt this month's Republican convention with demonstrations "1,000 times bigger than Chicago," Hayden, the co-founder of Students for Democratic Society, a left-wing group that splintered in the late '60s and early '70s, with one faction resorting to terrorism, is predicting between 100,000 and 1 million protesters will be in New York for the convention beginning Aug. 30. Hayden said there were at most 6,000 on hand in Chicago in 1968…

 

This time, he predicted, it will be "bigger by a thousand fold," he told a foreign journalist…"I think people are entitled to march without a permit," said Hayden, at one time the husband of Jane Fonda and the man who orchestrated her infamous visits to North Vietnam. "When you have a few hundred thousand people on the street you have permission. Nevertheless, the good people seeking permits have to continue doing that because it might happen and they need to lay the legal foundation for a later lawsuit."  Hayden has issued what some interpret as veiled threats if New York does not accommodate the demonstrators…

 

As WND reported previously, some of the groups organizing protests at this summer's Republican convention – including an anarchist outfit planning disruptions – get funding from a foundation chaired by Teresa Heinz Kerry, the wife of the Democratic Party presidential nominee. Heinz Kerry, worth as much as $1 billion according to some estimates, has directed donations in the millions to the Tides Foundation, a 28-year-old grant-making institution that funds some of the principal groups organizing demonstrations and disruptions of the GOP convention. The umbrella coalition organizing the protests is called United for Peace and Justice – strongly critical of the war in Iraq. The coalition was sponsored by Ramsey Clark's International Action Center, which was funded by the Tides Center's Iraq Peace Fund and Peace Studies Fund. Clark's group also sponsored International ANSWER. Both groups are run by long-time communist revolutionaries.

 

Teresa Heinz Kerry's favorite charity has also funded The Ruckus Society, an anarchist group known for disrupting the World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle in 1999 and planning similar disruptions for the New York convention. Subways to run directly under Bush at convention – July 28, 2004
WorldNetDaily - The New York City subway system, which runs directly the site of this year's Republican National Convention, will operate as usual during the event, even though threats posted on the Internet have been directed at subways…A spokesperson for New York's Metro Transit Authority told WND that while certain railroad commuter trains that run under Madison Square Garden will be on an enhanced security schedule, the subway system itself will function normally during the convention, with additional security precautions to be determined by the NYPD. Penn Station, attached to Madison Square Garden, is the largest commuter artery in New York City with about 600,000 daily passengers, and closing it during the convention – Aug. 28 through Sept. 2 – could paralyze the city, the MTA spokesperson said.

 

The NYPD refused to comment on the record, but an official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that while he can't divulge the exact security plans for subways during the convention, the NYPD is taking a series of steps to upgrade security. Those steps include patrols of subway cars by uniformed and plain-clothed officers, use of K-9 bomb sniffing units, and the deployment of NYPD Hercules teams – elite, heavily armed, Special Forces–type police units – at Penn Station and nearby subway stops…There are no plans to put subway commuters through metal detectors, the official said. Flip-flopping for the Jews – August 5, 2004

Jewish World Review – Most Jewish vote Democratic, and they have for a long time. They have voted in huge majorities for Democratic nominees since FDR created the New Deal. Several Republican nominees since have only occasionally increased Jewish voting percentages. Dwight D. Eisenhower won 40 percent of the Jewish vote against Adlai Stevenson in 1956; Ronald Reagan won 39 percent against Jimmy Carter in 1980 and George H.W. Bush won 35 percent against Michael Dukakis in 1988. He slipped to 11 percent against Bill Clinton.

Although George W. did a little better with 19 percent against Al Gore four years ago, the president should do better in November. Ed Koch, the former mayor of New York who is as partisan as a Democrat comes, is a Bush man this year. "I do not agree with President Bush on a single major domestic issue," he says, "but in my view those issues pale in comparison with the threat of international terrorism. The stated goal of al-Qaida and its supporters is to kill or convert every infidel, and that means Jews, Christians, Buddhists and everyone else who will not accept Islam's supremacy…"

 

John Kerry tells Jewish audiences what they want to hear, and when he imagines he's safely out of their sight, flip-flops. During the primaries, in a speech to the Arab-American Institute, he denounced the fence Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was building on the West Bank. "We don't need another barrier to peace," he said. Eight months later, with the Democratic nomination safely tucked away, he sang a different tune: "The security fence is a legitimate act of self-defense erected in response to the wave of terror attacks against Israeli citizens."  He suggested that he might send Jimmy Carter, the rare evangelical Christian who is not a friend of Israel, to work on Middle East peace negotiations. When that idea bombed, he blamed the "mistake" on his speechwriters. It's not clear whether John Kerry would encourage negotiations with Yasser Arafat, whom he described as a "role model" and "statesman" after the signing of the Oslo accord. How he really feels apparently depends on where he is, and who's listening…


Many Jews agree with Israel Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who calls President Bush "the best friend Israel ever had." In January, 31 percent of the Jews surveyed in a major poll said they would vote for the president's re-election. The perils of Middle Eastern politics and worldwide terrorism trump everything else. When Israel destroyed Saddam Hussein's nuclear reactor in 1981, the world universally — and naively — condemned the raid. Had it not been destroyed, there would be no argument today about whether Saddam has weapons of mass destruction. One of the Scuds that landed on Tel Aviv and Kuwait in 1991 would likely have carried a nuclear tip. Saddam, in fact, had shown no mercy when he used poison gas to kill his own Kurds. Terrorism in the Middle East was used first against the Jews, but the suicide bombers were but a warm-up act for the terrorism against the United States on 9/11. WorldNetDaily - Something ominous has occurred over the last few decades, and we are paying a terrible price for allowing it to happen.

 

The courts have become the primary agency of self-definition in America. Our gridlocked legislators are now close to irrelevant. Of course, the media still have tremendous power, but they can only "propose." It is the courts that "dispose" – they decide. And their misguided moral decisions over the years have proven to be disastrous. So much so that it can be said the legal system is now the greatest threat to America's future. However, if you were a casual observer of the political scene, you'd never know it, thanks to our clueless media elite. And they're not the only ones at fault.

 

The American elite in general has betrayed this country. Its members have left the public in a condition of almost total ignorance of our catastrophic situation. Their primary historic responsibility has always been to warn of danger and guard the essential ethics of our civilization. They have done neither. Most Americans are uncomfortable with the word "elite," but without some kind of guardian class, a group's code of conduct is totally vulnerable to subversion…

 

These "two Americas" are headed for a monumental clash. Add the War on Terror to that, and the situation is even more dangerous than the Cold War, when at least we were reasonably unified against an outside force. Now there is no unity – nor any real prospect of it. We're stuck with our two major parties, who are themselves waging "cold war," one party representing an America most of us still recognize, and one representing an America we've never seen before in our history – an imposter nation (still pretending to be mainstream) increasingly embedded within this great nation of ours… The American system of government seems almost defenseless against the internal hostility we see in the news almost every single day.

 

What do the citizens of this "imposter nation" believe? It is hard to tell. Of course, they can't define right or wrong with any clarity. They can't even define marriage. They cannot define patriotism (love of country) because they can't define either "love" or "country." They reject serious borders. They are at best confused about the war – and at worst, they are America-hating appeasers, ready to withdraw. They reject America's unique place in history – something that helps define our very being. In fact, they reject Americans who hold any traditional views: They reject traditional faith, family, and in the end, they reject freedom, which they have redefined as being able to do whatever you want – in other words, rights without clearly defined responsibilities, without a reliable moral code…

 

In his Farewell Address, Ronald Reagan warned us against the "eradication of the American memory." Well, it's happening. We are losing our identity. And this makes it almost impossible for us to lead the free world, or to even defend ourselves from terrorists who do not love the idea of liberty. (Powerful and thoughtful article)

 

While the Bush White House has been praised as being such a friend of Israel and PM Ariel Sharon such a willing co-partner to please the Bush administration, many concerns are being raised amongst Jewish leaders about John Kerry.  To date, though Democratic nominee John Kerry has pledged that he would guarantee that Israel “retains the qualitative edge for its national security and right to self-defense” that some Israelis claim to be a recognition of the West Bank and rejection of a "right of return" for Palestinian refugees, Kerry is also building his advisory staff to mimic the administration of Bill Clinton.  This administration of President Bill Clinton, most Israeli’s feel was the architect of the failed Oslo Accord between the seven years of Tishri 1, 1993 and Tishri 1, 2000. 

 

Concern amongst the Kerry appointments is former U.S. Ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk who consistently pushed that the ‘peace agenda’ be coupled with continued territorial concessions.  "Indyk managed to help Arafat wrest complete control over the Palestinian people through deceit and subterfuge. And now, if he gets his way, American troops may find themselves in the middle of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip – providing cover for Hamas and Palestinian Jihad," wrote David Bedein, bureau chief of the Israel Resource News Agency. "The very mention of Indyk sends shudders down the spine of senior members of the Israel defense and foreign policy establishment."  Of great concern is the apparent current desire of Kerry to coordinate his Middle East policies with the Europeans who are consistently anti-Israel in any United Nation proceedings. 

 

In a recent WorldNetDaily commentary by Michael Evans, he commented on the Kerry’s appointment of Jay Footlik as advisor for Israeli affairs.  He was an ardent advocate of the Oslo Accord and the ‘peace process’ which coded meant unilateral concessions by the Nation of Israel in a land for peace dialogue. At the same time Bill Koenig, White House Correspondence and editor of Koenig’s Eye View from the White House, notes that Yasser Arafat, who was persona non-grata at the Reagan and Bush ’41 White Houses, became the most welcomed foreign dignitary at the Clinton White House.  He stayed at the Blair House more than any other foreign leader during Mr. Clinton’s tenure.

 

Will a Kerry administration bring America into the European-United Nation fold as the internationalists swarm closer and closer around Israel?

World Net Daily - Sources close to John Kerry say they're becoming increasingly dissatisfied with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's attitude toward the Democratic presidential candidate, while many in the Israeli government are privately voicing concerns that some of Kerry's policies may be harmful to the Jewish state. Kerry's Mideast advisers, many of whom are Jewish, are complaining that Sharon is playing favorites with Bush and making it difficult for the Democrats to lure Jewish voters. They say Sharon is going out of his way to praise Bush to the American media, and expressed disappointment Sharon wasn't able to meet Kerry during his last trip to Washington in April. In fact, the two men have never spoken.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, whose statements are considered closely aligned with Sharon's policy, even recently told a meeting of prominent American Jews that he prefers Bush over Kerry. Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel and a close Kerry confidante Martin Indyk told Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom this week that he expects a change in Israel's attitude toward Kerry once he is officially nominated this week. The prime minister's office says it has no plans to interfere with U.S. elections, just as America should not be involved in Israeli elections. But a growing number of Israeli politicians are privately expressing concern over Kerry's statements of coordinating American foreign policy with the Europeans, and of his appointing several former Clinton Mideast policy directors as advisers.

 

Many blame Clinton's failed approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which sought Israeli territorial concessions for promises of peace by Arafat and ignored indications of growing Palestinian militancy and violations of security reform agreements, for partially causing the current intifada. "We cannot afford another Clinton era in the Mideast, not at this dangerous time," said an Israeli Likud member. "We hear speaker after speaker at the Democratic convention talk about joint efforts with the EU and the U.N. Is Kerry going to advocate for releasing Arafat from isolation, like France wants? Will Kerry take a soft approach to Iran, like some in Europe want? Clinton was soft on North Korea and now they have the nuke. What about the security fence? Is Kerry going to tow the U.N. line that we don't have the right to protect ourselves from suicide bombers?" he said. (Poignant article)
