In spite of the two countries, Russia and Georgia, conducting war games, threatening, provoking and posturing against each other, Russia swiftly responded to counter Georgia, who invaded the separatist’s province of South Ossetia. Georgia was forcibly seeking to bring South Ossetia back into the Georgian’s diplomatic fold; a right the international community had given her, for the province of South Ossetia was in her internationally recognized territorial borders, yet inside the sphere of Russia’s influence.

Was Georgia set up to provoke and invade South Ossetia so Russia could invade Georgia? Was Russia seeking not only to regain a province that she claims for her own, but to stop the invasion of influence of NATO and America in routing the Caspian Sea oil to pipelines that Russia also claims to be her own? To all these questions, we still do not know. With more troops massed against the territorial borders of Georgia than Georgia’s entire army, Russia was prepared and maybe calculated so, to invade. It will take the historians to confirm that fact.

One of the mysteries of the prophetic book of Daniel is the enigma of the “Ram” of Daniel Eight. The anger of animosity and the rage for justice sealed the fate of the Catholic Christians and the Muslims alike. The Crusader States were formed as European dynasties in their greed for power and control. Each individual dynastic state sought to proclaim its land for the Vatican and the Pope.

Seven Jewish messiahs would rise and herald their “view” of the time of the end. There also would also rise up a Muslim anti-Christ in the powerful Kurdish warrior of Saladin the Great. Yet the “appointed time” for the time of the end would have to wait another thousand years.

Saladin and the Christian Crusades, a Prelude to the Mongolian Invasion of Persia

Prior to the time when it appeared that the Mongolian Il-Khanate hordes would destroy the whole landscape of the Middle East including Palestine, there descended upon Palestine the Catholic Christian Crusaders seeking to gain a permanent foothold in the Holy Land . There they established Crusader States in Jerusalem and in Roman Palestine. The finger of the Lord of hosts would pour out His “chalice” upon the land in a mini-drama that would later be recreated at the time of the end as the Vatican again seeks to re-assert its power and authority over the Holy Land. Introduction

As the Catholic Christian Crusader’s influence in Palestine began to decline, the Mongols returned with Hülegü Khan, the grandson of Genghis Khan. He arrived into the Middle East with the mandate to crush the Ismaili Hashshashin Assassins and either destroy or force submission of every Islamic Caliphate or ruling Dynasty in the Middle East. Like a scorched earth invasion, the Mongolians destroyed and massacred all the inhabitants of the capital city of the Sunni Islamic Abbasid Caliphate in Baghdad.

The Ismaili Hashshashin were formidable warriors and their assassin dagger took the life of one of Genghis’ sons. Under the spell of the “Old Man of the Mountain,” Hasan-i-Sabbah molded the feared “Assassins” in Islamic history that became the proto-type of the modern Islamic fundamentalist terrorist today. There was one problem, the Islamic “suicide bomber” was not true to his Ismaili legacy. Neither would his image of a martyr’s quest for a reward in Paradise with 72 virgins be true to the Qur’an and Islamic Sharia Law.

As the Mongolian Khans sought to imprint their legacy upon the lands where the Jewish people lived, in Europe and the Middle East, they met the spiritual forces of the protecting hand of the God of Israel. Introduction

The final thrust of the Mongolian Empire was to the east in the ancient land of China. It was the Great Wall of China (Wall of al-Magog) that was built to halt the ancient invasions of the Mongol hordes. The powerful tribes of Central Asia that millenniums earlier had crossed the Aleutian Straits into Alaska and peopled the land of the Americas would soon breech the Great Wall of China and take over China as the Yuan Dynasty.

The last Great Khan, Kublai Khan, would establish the Yuan Chinese Dynasty and his Pax Mongolica would open up trade along the Silk Road between the east and the west. With the death of the Great Khan Kublai Khan, the Mongolian Empire was over. Like Alexander’s Empire of old and the future “Great Horn” Empire of the He-Goat, the Greater Mongolian Empire split into four rival kingdoms, called Khanates.

Again there arose a Mongol terrorist called the “Scourge of God.” Sunni Islam came face to face again with a social and political catastrophe. Instead of Baghdad, this time Damascus felt the full “wrath of God.” Yet when Tamerlane sought to touch the “apple of God’s eye,” his plans were thwarted. The Mongol era appeared to be over.
