The Festival of Lights

The air is damp and foggy.  The atmosphere feels surreal and mystic as I drive down a tree-lined lane. ‘Silent Night, Holy Night’ floats across the dashboard of my Camero, jolting my memory; this is the season celebrating the birth of the Christ child.  My memory immediately revisits the grand Parisian art museum, the Louve in Paris, and the scenes there of the Madonna and the Christ child which are so indelibly imprinting in the Christian consciousness.

There the 13th century masters painted Mary in velvets of blue, green and scarlet, with the naked Christ child nestled against her bosom, set against a backdrop of Italian Renaissance architecture and Venetian cultured landscape. Though beautiful, is this the most accurate picture of the birth of the Christ child that we have, cloaked in medieval iconoclastic style?  Do we even have a mental grasp of who Yahshua ben Joseph was, what his culture was like, and who his family was?  The Almighty had a time, place and purpose for His Chosen Son.  Does our religious imagery reflect the life he really lived?  Our understanding of Jesus begins with his early life, so I ask you to join me in taking another look at the birth of Jesus. Behold a Virgin shall Conceive

It was possibly during the festival of Succot on the day of October 3, 7 BCE when a young Davidian was born in the city of Bethlehem.  This date was definitely before the great historical divide as was conceived by the medieval Catholic monks between B.C. (“Before the birth of Christ) – prior known as A.C.N. as Ante Christum Natum” and AD (Anno Domini“In the year of our Lord Jesus Christ”).  It was an epochal separation of the history of the world as before and after the birth of Jesus Christ, the messiah to the Jews and the progenitor of the Christian faith.

This birth was before the historically documented date of the death of Herod the Great in March, 4 BCE. In his paranoid pogroms to eliminate any potential rival to Herod’s throne, he killed his favorite wife, Mariamme and strangling his Hasmonean sons, Alexander and Aristobulus.  This was near the dates of 7 BCE when the conjunction of Saturn, Jupiter in the constellation of Pisces occurred as discovered in 1603 by the Prague astronomer and mathematician Johannes Kepler who saw the convergence of two planets into one larger “new star” through his rudimentary telescope.  Remembering the ancient rabbinic writer, Abravanel (1437-1508), who wrote that Jewish astronomers felt that when the occurrence of the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter was in Pisces, the Messiah would comeIn ancient Jewish lore, Jupiter represented the royal House of David, Saturn, the protector of Israel and the constellation of Pisces as the House of Israel, the sign of the Maschiach of Yisra’el (Messiah of Israel)

It would not be until 1925 when the astrological archives were discovered in cuneiform inscriptions at Abu-Habbah.  This temple ziggurat complex in the ancient Sumerian city of Sippar was dedicated to the Sumerian god of the moon, Shamash.  This city was expertly positioned on a major canal connecting the Tigris and the Euphrates in Babylon.  Here in the ancient scribal School of Astrology, among the tens of thousands of clay tablets, the dates of the convergence of Jupiter and Saturn in the constellation of Pisces occurred over five months in four observable dates... Joseph, the father of Jesus

Joseph in beautiful stain-glassToday almost all of Christendom accepts the fact that Joseph was Jesus’ legal father but not his genetic father.  Yet what does that mean?

Joseph, the father of Jesus

Joseph, known as an honorable man, became a protector and a provider for both this young maiden and her son by providing a family atmosphere where Jesus could be raised.  The best relationship of Joseph to Jesus as we would understand from the Synoptic story would be recognized under Jewish law as Joseph becoming a legally adopting father.

So as an adopting father, he did two things required of all Hebrew parents, he gave Jesus his name and he taught Jesus his trade.  Whereas the angel of the Lord said to Mary, "you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus," (Luke 1:31), this name was not given to him until the eighth day of the festival of Sukkot.  On this day called the Simhat Torah, there was a great day of celebration amongst the Jews as this was the day when the Torah itself would “come to life.(Click to Open the Article, “Was Joseph Betrothed or Espoused to Mary?”

The War of Gog and Magog

Of all the prophecies at the final end of this age, the most perplexing and fascinating is the War of Gog from the Land of Magog.  For over one hundred sixty years, the Christian expositors since the Advent Movement of the 1840s have been engaging in a lively debate of who is “Gog” and where is “Magog.”  From the era of Sir Isaac Newton, the prophecies have lured the religious curiosity of the Christians.  What is interesting is that Sir Isaac Newton was not a Christian but a Jew

While Christianity claims to have a monopoly on prophetic interpretation of the Holy Writ that is only because we fail to investigate and research what may a far more serious scholarly study of the ancient prophets by the sages of Judaism.  The Christian faith held a spiritual interpretation concerning the coming of the Messiah until the coming of the Advent Movement.  To most denominations, Protestant and Catholic alike believed that Jesus the Messiah had already returned to this earth: to Rome as the city of God, within our hearts that are now spiritually circumcised or that Christ has secretly returned and dwells among men.  In the great thrusts of humanism and scientific achievement, the human race has sought to create a New World Order of peace and prosperity for all.

Yet the prophetic passages of Gog and Magog continue to haunt us. We cannot find a moment of history in which these prophecies were fulfilled and neither can we find any conditional justification that they will not be fulfilled.  This is what BibleSearchering is all about.  Let us begin our journey, relook at our prophetic models and see what evidence the Lord of hosts is now giving to us.  Let us first look at the prophecy of Ezekiel about Gog of the Land of Magog. The Days of the Beginning of Geula (Redemption)

Before the coming of the Maschiach of Yisra’el (Messiah of Israel)

August 15 to December 15, 2005

Rosh Hashannah – October 4, 2004

The fall of 2005 will be a year that will go down in Jewish prophetic history.  According to the Chassidic rabbinic sages, the “Geula” or the days of redemption started on the day that the Jewish people were forcibly expulsed from Gush Katif in Gaza.  As Rabbi Arie Shechter, a specialist in the computer analysis of the Torah hidden codes recently stated, the signs of Geula b’ito, the coming of the redemption by God in their own time during days of disasters and catastrophes, began on Rosh Hashannah 5766.  The Gaza Disengagement according to the rabbis triggered the opening days of coming redemption, called Geula, of the Maschiach of Yisra’el.  Israel has now entered into a new era of redemption.  Once the beginning of Geula has been set in motion, the Day of the Lord and the coming of the Messiah will come between one and seven years, maximum

According to the students of the Jewish prophet Achiya HaShiloni and his most famous disciple, Baal Shem Tov, the expulsion from the “outer villages of Israel” was predicted for over a century ago.  Set this in motion with the recent public announcement in September, 2005 by the esteemed centurion Sephardi Elder Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri, a warning was given to the Jews “to return to the Land of Israel due to terrible natural disasters which threaten the world.”

Lest our memories fade on that day when the mothers and fathers, children, students in the yeshivas and synagogues were forcibly evicted from their homes and to this day four months later when 80% of them were living like refugees in Israel, the following four global news series are dedicated to preserve an archive of that moment in time when the first Jewish government drove their people off the land in which the God of Israel gave to their forefathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Sanhedrin Project Unveiled With Humility – November 4, 2005

A conference this week unveiled the Sanhedrin project to the public, shifting away from euphoric satisfaction with the launch of the Court one year ago and moving toward broadening participation. Since it was launched in Tiberias last year, the Court of 71 rabbis has strived to fulfill the halachic (Jewish legal) requirements for renewing authentic semicha (rabbinic ordination passed down from Moses) and for reestablishing the Great Court, which was disbanded 1,600 years ago. At Sunday’s conference, distinguished members of the Court, led by Rabbi Adin Even-Israel (Steinsaltz), presented a humble, yet exhilarating plan to widen the scope and acceptance of the Court to truly move toward becoming the restored Sanhedrin of old.

The Reestablished Jewish Sanhedrin

Along with the increasingly modest references to the current institution of a Court or Sanhedrin project came new high-caliber participants in the project. Rabbi Even-Israel publicly accepted the position of Nassi, President of the Sanhedrin(Click to Open the Article, “Fall 2005 Review of the Land and the Zionist State of Israel” - Part One

Sharon Implicated in Another Campaign Funding Scandal – September 20, 2005

Israel National News - Just before departing New York Sunday night, PM Sharon allegedly managed to violate campaign funding laws by taking part in a dinner at which participants donated well over the permitted amount. A report by Israel's Channel Ten television reporter Raviv Drucker last night provided a detailed report on the Sunday night affair. He related how the organizer and hostess - NIna Rosenwald - sent letters to selected invitees asking for $10,000 per person or couple, and how the 5th Avenue location was closed off for over an hour for what the police described as a "top secret" reason. Only the 15 invited couples were permitted to enter Rosenwald's apartment, after having paid the minimum amount in advance.

Rosenwald is a member of the CFR (Council of Foreign Relations), but is also Chairman of the Board of MEMRI (Middle East Media and Research Institute), a member of CAMERA (the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting), AIPAC (American-Israel Public Affairs Committee) and many other prestigious bodies. The letter, as summarized by Drucker, states, "The problem: As you know, Prime Minister [sic] Binyamin Netanyahu is running against Sharon, and the one who wins will most likely be Israel's next Prime Minister. Unfortunately, Sharon does not enjoy the same financial support that Netanyahu has amassed over the past decades. We therefore ask you to contribute $10,000 each for a non-profit organization working all over Israel that is especially effective in bringing people to the polls. Please help; the future of Israel is truly in danger... The Prime Minister said that he is very interested in hearing your thoughts." WITHDRAWAL BEGINS – August 15, 2005

Lekarev - Implementing the government's disengagement plan, the army began their visits across Gaza settlements about 15 minutes ago, at 7:00 a.m., handing out eviction orders to about half of the settlers who have so far refused to leave, and offering relocation help to those who had not yet completed packing. Residents have 48 hours to leave voluntarily or face a forcible eviction.

Chief of the General Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz said that the army would not forcibly enter settler homes to give them eviction notices or offer relocation help. "We are offering our hand, not forcing it," he said. "Those who want to take our hand and receive our assistance are welcome to do so." The Gaza settlements of Atzmona, Katif, Dugit, Kfar Darom, and Netzarim requested that IDF soldiers not enter in order to distribute eviction orders. Instead, an agreement was reached through which security chiefs of all five settlements would spread word of the evictions. In a somber ceremony, Israel shut the gates to the Gaza Strip at midnight last night, beginning the end of a 38-year presence. Tears are abundant in the land of Israel today, both within Gaza and across the nation. Magnificent Children - A MUST READ! – August 7, 2005

Lekarev - This article was posted on www.israelinsider.com and was written by Rachel Saperstein. It clearly communicates what I and many others have observed and experienced in the young people of Gush Katif and of greater Israel in recent weeks.  The children of Nevei Dekalim brought each family a long-stemmed sunflower with a wish for a happy and peaceful Sabbath. A note was attached. The note, written by the children, reminded us, the grown-ups, to keep up our courage and faith.

The previous day, a bite-sized chocolate bar, pinned to an invitation, was hung on our front doorknob. We were invited to a mass seudah shlishit, the third Sabbath meal, being hosted by the teenagers for the entire town of N'vei Dekalim. It was the children's way of saying thank you to their parents and neighbors for their brave struggle for Gush Katif, and for the privilege of having grown up in this beautiful bit of paradise.

The young people of Gush Katif have been in the forefront of the battle to save their homes. They packed Purim baskets, stood on street corners giving out orange ribbons, went from house to house meetings with the people of Israel during the Face- to-Face campaign. They sold orange hats, t-shirts, bags, pens, bracelets and pins across the land. They hung posters and banners across the highways of Israel. And the youth of the rest of Israel joined their battle. Our kids met with secular teenagers and restored the word "Zionism" to their vocabulary. They taught "post-Zionist" youth to love Israel with their heart and soul. Essenes of Mount CarmelYahshua (Jesus) overlooking the Temple in Jerusalem

“Behold a Virgin shall be with Child”

In the Footsteps of the Master

Matthew 1:23 – “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall cal His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.’”

On that day at Hanukkah, the embryo of Yahshua was formed in the womb of a maiden by the Spirit of the Almighty One.  A mystery of mysteries it was.  On that day at Succot, the babe called Immanuel was born and the Torah in the flesh came to dwell or tabernacle with His own people.  What was perceived in the heavens, now came down to this earth.  In the midst of the greatest celebration event in the Jewish year, in the succoth of the animals, the Son of God made His humble entry to our planet earth.

Yahshua HaMaschiach (Jesus the Messiah) was born into this world; He did not come out of this world.  He came into human history from the World of the Divine; He did not emerge out of human history.  That Jewish rabbi we call Jesus of Nazareth was not the best human that this world can boast about; He is a Being that the human race can claim no credit except, we were made into His image.  He was not a man who was to become God; He was the fullest emanation of the Father Himself that could be transmitted to this three dimensional world.  His life was highest expression of holiness… (Click to Open the Article, “Behold a Virgin shall be with Child”
