The Real Christmas – 25th day of Tishri

It was 1993, we were traveling on a three thousand miles journey through Portugal and Spain absorbing all the sites of cathedrals and museums of two lands that took more gold from the New World than Europe had ever absorbed in its entire history.  Here in Spain, the bastion of Roman orthodoxy, I wanted to get a feel for true fervor of the orthodox Spaniard for the birth of Jesus. We settled in for the Christmas holiday in the capital of Spain, Madrid, after a full day at the Prada, the second best art museum in the world after the Louve in Paris. The city became quiet, deathly quiet.  It was Sabbath, the 25th of December, and the city was dead. Not a carol to be heard, nor a manger scene to be seen except in the foyer of a cathedral. The city streets were not decorated, the stores were unusually bland, and all the excess commercialism of the Americas was profoundly absent. And then a thought struck me. The Spaniards ignore the birth of Jesus by their silence while the Americans ignore the birth of Jesus by our excess materialism, commercialism and social interactions.  Yet the real birth of Jesus was having a national celebration on this planet in the land of Israel, but no one in that land even knew what the celebration was about.  For some reason it all didn’t seem to fit.  Jesus was not an American nor a westerner.  For that matter, the month of December did not even exist in the land of his birth.

One of the real goals of the protest-ant reformation is to undo the historical revisionism of the early Roman church.  The concepts and ideas of the Jewish remnant of the ‘Chosen Ones’ in the land of Judea were extracted from a Semitic and Hebrew philosophy and transplanted unto a Greco-Roman philosophy.  Dates were changes, seasons were charged and fundamental concepts of life were changed.  Here in the land of Judea that gave Christians their Hebrew-Judaic roots and the Christ that they claim to serve, was a land whose calendar of religious expression centered on the lunar festival calendar, where the months followed a lunar agrarian cycle, not the rotational cycle of the sun and the seasonal equinoxes.

Here in the land of 1st century Judea, the Jewish month closest to the month of December is the ninth month of the year called Kislev, a day meaning peaceful and rest. On the 25th day of every Kislev a remarkable event occurred, a festival of the Jews which is one of the joyous festivals of the entire year, the festival of Hanukah or Chanukah, the Festival of Lights.

Here is a winter feast celebrating the rededication of the temple of Zerubabbel that was desecrated by the Syrian ruler, Antiochus Epiphanes IV when he sacrificed a pig on the altar of the Lord, tore down the furnishings of the temple and wiping out the temple treasury.  This day was the abomination of desolation that would be a mini-drama of a future desolation of a temple of the Jews at the time of the end.  As the temple was refurnished with articles of furniture that were of inferior metals, the great menorah of seven candlesticks was lit, but something was extremely wrong.  In all the city of Jerusalem, there was only enough sacred and consecrated oil to keep the lamps glowing for one whole day.  Yet a miracle happened, the lamps kept glowing, and glowing and glowing.  For eight days, the lamps continued to burn.  By then new consecrated oil had been prepared.

Yet when was the Miracle of the Lights?  It was not the first day, as they did have enough oil for the lamps to burn.  Yes, the miracle was the second day, when the lamps continued to burn. Guess what day that was?  That day was the 25th day of Kislev, the Jewish month most equivalent to the month of December.

Was Jesus born on the 25th day of Kislev rather than December?  It takes biblical detective, but isn’t that who we are?  BibleSearchers?  The discovery of the real birthday of Jesus, begins with Zacharias offering incense in the temple when he was met face to face with the most awesome being he had ever met, the archangel Gabriel.  The experience left him speechless for a whole nine months.  A little genealogical work on the family of Zechariah, a little detective undercover work on which days and weeks of the year each family of priests were assigned to work at the temple and a little knowledge of female gynecology and the cycles of reproduction in a female give us another major clue.

The birth of John the Baptist, the son of Zechariah, the conception of Jesus, the son of Miriam and Joseph, and the birth of Jesus plus the date of His circumcision were are foretold in exact detail imbedded in the grand festivals of the Lord.  These festivals were reenacted every year line by line, scene by scene in a drama that empowered all the senses of the body.  According to the sages, the miracle of God’s presence was always visible during the temple services. There was the bolt of fire streaming from the atmosphere to light the great altar, the flashing lights, crackling and sparks of fire as the incense was thrown on the golden altar of incense.  The smoke of the incense of the altar always went straight up into the heavens whether it was a still calm day or in a torrential rain with gusts of wind as if defying all the natural laws of the universe.

When studying the prenatal cycle of Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist and the prenatal cycle of Mary, the mother of Jesus, we find that it was all preordained by the Heavenly Father when the fullness of time had come.   But what about the shepherds with flocks in the field in December or the manger and stables?  When the real story is told, we can envision the birth of Jesus at one of the happiest moments in the Jewish festival year, the Festival of Succot, called the Feast of Tabernacles.  “To tabernacle” means ‘to dwell amongst’ and so the Son of Man was born at the very time when all Israel was shouting and dancing in anticipation of the Torah coming down to dwell among them. This truly was a time of celebration, singing, dancing unto the Lord, watching the sound and light shows as the shofars of hundreds of priests would cascade over the temple terraces into the valleys below and the anthems of praise of the priestly choruses would swell with shouts of joy.  The water libation ceremonies would be recreated with waving branches of palms in a rhythmic flow harmonious in harmony with the natural biorhythms of man.  In the midst of the festival, a young babe was born, in Bethlehem in the suburbs of Jerusalem.  The “Torah” had come to dwell among men.

But that was in October during the fall festivals of Tabernacles or Succot.  What actually happened on the 25th day of Kislev?  To the Jew, life does not begin at 40, nor does life begin at birth. Rather life begins at conception. The sacredness of life begins at the moment the sperm enters the ova and the cellular division of that human egg begins to divide.  On the 25th day of Kislev, the “Miracle” of the Festival of Lights occurred when the ‘Light of the World’ was conceived in a young maiden of about fourteen years of age. Here was the Miracle of the Ages.

Read this story to your children on the 2nd day of Hanukkah, the 25th day of Kislev, which will be on Saturday evening, December 20, 2003. Read it again on the 25th day of December. It all was part of the plan of salvation of the Almighty set in motion before the creation of the universe and it make sense when the proper calendar and the festival cycles are included in the telling of the story..

Signs at the Time of the End – Lunar and Solar Eclipse

“Joel 2:28, 31; Act 2:17,20 - “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh…..The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.”

The complete Lunar Eclipse over the Middle East on the 9th of November, 2003.

The Moon Shall Turn to Blood

The two most ancient civilizations, the Jews and the Moslems, whose religious history is based around the lunar calendar, watched one of the most spectacular blood red lunar eclipses in recorded history.

The peak of the lunar eclipse was on November 9, 2003 at 3:10 a.m. Jerusalem Local Time after the close of the Shabbat and was visible high above the western horizon.  This was the first blood red eclipse to be seen over Jerusalem since Passover, 1996.

Also on Sunday, November 9 (Ramadan 14) the Moslem citizens of Africa and Arabia in the midst of Ramadan celebrations awakened at pre-dawn to a moon turning coppery red in a breathtaking celestial spectacle.  With telescopes and binoculars, the subtle shading on the moon allowed observers to investigate the craters and lunar landscape with greater detail.

A total lunar eclipse occurs only when this planet earth get directly between the sun and the moon and occurs only at the full moon phase.  If our earth did not have any atmosphere, the moon would actually look totally black.  Yet, the atmosphere around the Earth filters and refracts the sun’s light depending on the amount of the dust and clouds in the atmosphere.  As such the moon can appear in a variety of shades from dark grey or brown, to bright red, orange and yellow.

Though the eclipse was visible across the United States at various stages, it was to be the dramatic blood red appearance that was visualized over the land of the Jews and Moslems.

The Position of the Lunar Eclipse in the Thigh of the Lamb on November 9, 2003

When we analyze this specific eclipse and its how it occurred in the constellations of heaven, we notice something remarkable. The lunar eclipse over Jerusalem occurred in the constellation of Aries which in Hebrew (taleh) means ‘The Lamb”  Not only that it occurred in the hollow of the thigh of the lamb.

According to Robert Wadsworth with Biblical Astronomy, “If this is a blood red moon, then it will be a great sign indeed, and will continue in the current portrayal and theme of the blood of atonement that began with the close approach of Mars on Elul 1, 2003, which also began the 40 day season of repentance to the Day of Atonement which took place on October 6/7).  The major theme of the sign of the constellation of Aries the Lamb is the One who was slain but resurrected and now returning to defeat his enemies and deliver his people.  This is pictured by a ram, or lamb, full of vigor and life; not falling in death as Capricornus is.”

This is the Lamb that appeared ‘as though it had been slain” but found worthy to open the seven seals in Revelation 5 because of His atoning blood that was shed to unlock the ‘sealed book’ and unleash the final seven seals that will bring forth the final apocalyptic time of the end upon this earth. This is the “Lamb” that will defeat the beast from the sea and his armies in Revelation 19.

A Total Solar Eclipse like the one on the 23th day of November, 2003.

The Sun shall be Darkened

That is not all.  On November 23, 2003, a total solar eclipse was seen though it was visualized only by the intrepid travelers to the far off reaches of the world on the continent of Antarctica.

Let us make the assumption that the Lord of hosts writes out His plan in the heavens as the prophets of old truly believed, than it does behoove us to see if there is a meaning for this solar eclipse.  Here we see that the position of the sun and the moon as will be visualized from land base on Antarctica will be in front of and near the head of the scorpion in the celestial constellation of Scorpius, Hebrew for akrab, meaning conflict or war.

The Great Controversy of the Ages is the conflict between the “Woman” and her “seed” and the “Serpent” and the serpent’s seed as foretold in Genesis 3:15.

Genesis 3:15 – “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”

Here we see direct allusions to Eve and her eventual seed, the “Son of Man” and veiled illusions to Mary, daughter of Heli, and her seed, Emmanuel in direct conflict with Satan, who is called HaSatan, “The Adversary”, and the seed of HaSatan called the AntiChrist.  The Christ and the AntiChrist will come in direct conflict.

Position of Sun and Moon in Scorpius during Total Solar Eclipse on Nov. 23, 2003

Here we may be seeing the omens in the heavens.  The next mention of the woman and her seed and the serpent and its seed is found in Revelation 13.  If the Lord of hosts does speak to us and give us clues to what is happening in the other dimensions of the heavens, how can and will He speak?  Surely He has the power and authority to let His voice speak through the heavens and all the inhabitants of the earth will be shaken to their knees. But what does this do to the free will of man and the power of choice that has been given to us.  As has been stated by one of my favorite authors, Ellen G. White in the 1903, when she wrote,

Ellen G. White - “Every human being, created in the image of God, is endowed with a power akin to that of the Creator – individuality, power to think and to do.” (Ellen G. White, Education, Pacific Press Publishing Co., 1903, 1951, pg 17)

The war in heaven is not over and is still raging.  Eventually the final conflict and battles will be waged on this earth as the inter-dimensional forces of God under the command of the archangel, Michael, will drive the rebelling and evil forces of Satan into this three dimensional sphere of this planet earth.  Here on this earth, all mankind will be able to witness the other-dimensional spiritual powers that will become physical. The unseen will be manifested.  The veils will be uncloaked.  The drama will be intense and great catastrophes will occur on this earth.

Another future sighting described of a black sun and a blood red moon is revealed in the Six Seal of Revelation.

Revelation 6:12 – “I looked when He opened the sixth seal and behold there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood.”

It was the Rabbi Yeshua whom we know as Jesus the Nazarene, who was sitting on the slopes of the Mount of Olives and began his most famous discourse, the Olivet Discourse, on the events leading up to the time of the end in Matthew 24. His accounts of the celestial events will occur after the tribulation of the time of the end.

Matthew 24:29 – “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven and the powers of heaven will be shaken.”

Here again we seem to be visiting catastrophic events that are unprecedented in our natural world. The natural laws which appear to be uniform and in steady state are suddenly thrown into sudden disarray.

Over one hundred eighty years ago similar signs in the heavens were sensitizing prophetic watchers in New England to the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation.  In an era in which none of the Christian churches believed in the literal coming of the messiah, William Miller and Joseph Bates became the most outspoken advocates that Jesus as Yeshua ben David would return as the messiah in a literal and physical return that truly would be seen by ‘every eye’.  This was called the Millerite Movement and the Great Awakening of 1830 to 1845.

Yet the great awakening was not an event that grew up from a cultic center, it was a religious phenomenon that swept all the denominations in the United States: Baptists, Catholics, Methodists, Episcopalians, and Presbyterians and more.  With the Great Awakening in the 1830s and 40s came the beginning of literal prophetic interpretation of scripture on the literal return of the messiah.  When Jesus did not come in 1844 most of the Millerites returned back to their home churches.  But out of the Great Awakening, the Seventh-day Adventists arose and carried the torch of the literal return and earned the title as the grandfathers of modern prophetic interpretation.  The Jehovah’s Witnesses followed in suit, then came the Evangelical Christians as dispensationalists beginning with John Darby and the Scofield Bible, and eventually the Messianic Christians, those group who are trying to recreate the Hebrew Nazarene Ecclesia of Israel, the Nazarenes and the Josephites/Ephraimites.  Each step along the way, the pathway of restoration has become more defined as Christians are leaving the corruption of Roman orthodox Christianity and returning to the Hebrew-Judaic roots of their spiritual ancestry.

Is it no wonder that at this time of religious and spiritual awakening, most of the major ‘isms’ in the world today began to revive.

·                  Evolutionism with the seeds of the idea of “natural selection” espoused by Charles Darwin while he was on the H.M.S. Beagle on a British science expedition at the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific Ocean. (Paul Johnson, The History of the Jews, Harper and Row Publishers, 1987, pg. 321)  It was Heinrich von Treitschke (1834-1896), the German historian, who popularized anti-Semitism in academia and encouraged the scientific community to misapply the ideas of Charles Darwin creating “Social Darwinism” where races compete with each other in the ‘survival of the fittest’. (Ibid 393)

·                  Spiritism dating from 1848 with the ‘knockings’ experimented by the Fox family at Hydesville and later Rochester, New York.

·                  Mormanism when Joseph Smith at the age of 17 was visited by the angel Moroni on September 21, 1823, who was the supposed son of Mormon, leader of the Nephites living in the Americas in the 4th century.  Joseph Smith was instructed to translate the book of Morman which Moroni’s father, Morman compiled and wrote them on golden plates hidden near Palmyra, New York.

·                  At the same time the Islamic nations were becoming restless and under the powerful Albanian general who commanded the armies of the Ottoman Sultan, Mohamed Ali the Great drove out the French and for the next forty years, from 1806 – 1848, he and his son Ibrahim Pasha dominated the Middle East political scene.

·                  Communism was founded on the principles of the Karl Marx (1818-1883) a Jewish anti-Semitic German socialist who most famous phrase, ‘the opiate of the Jews’ was coined from a jibe on religion being a ‘spiritual opium’ by his friend, Heinrich Heine (1797-1856), a secular intellectual writer and poet who Paul Johnson called an ‘emancipated and apostate’ Jew’ (Ibid 343).  Marx’s communistic millennialism led him to prophecy on the coming of the Messiah in 1849 and for eight different dates thereafter until 1859. (Ibid 348) In essence, “Marx’s theory of communism was the end-product of his theoretical anti-Semitism.” (Ibid 350)

·                    Is it also not remarkable that modern Zionism also began in the 1840’s.   It was the German Rabbi Zevi Hirsch Kalischer (1795-1874) who asked the Frankfurt Rothschilds in 1836 for funds to buy Erez (Land of) Israel or at least Jerusalem from Muhamed Ali the Great with the goal to begin the ingathering of the Jews to their land. (Ibid 374) It was in 1840 that Sir Moses Montefiore and Adolphe Cremeieux expected the impending arrival of the messiah, rescued Rabbi Judah Alkalai (1798-1878) with the Damascus community near Belgrade with the plan that a transplantation of this community to Israel would become a model for world Jewry to relocate as a nation, with Hebrew as a national language and the messiah as its ruler. (Ibid 322)  Even so the word, Zionism, was not coined until 1893. (Ibid 398)

As the Signs of the Times, the Great Earthquake of Lisbon in November 1, 1755, the Dark Day and the evening moon that turned to blood in May 19, 1780 in New England and the Great Meteroic shower of November 13, 1833, all radically changed the religious perceptions of the Christian Protestant world in American.  This would awaken the idea that in the future, natural signs in the heavens would precede the coming Great Day of the Lord.

It is a coincidence that the lunar cultures of the Middle East will witness during Ramadan, 2003 a potential ‘oracle’ in the heavens. With the United States mired in Baghdad, radical fundamental Muslims are reasserting their power in every Muslim country in the Middle East, threatening the foreign and domestic assets of America, the Great Satan and Great Britain, plus the stalemate between the arch-terrorist Yasser Arafat of the House of the Husseinis, the Muftis of Palestine and Ariel (Lion) Sharon leading the seventieth generation of Jews since the fall of Jerusalem in 70 CE, the question need to be asked, “What will their interpretation of these events be?”

Every prophetic utterance of the ancient prophets are not just revelations of God’s divine plan but a prophetic reality of what will be as the Lord of hosts has to work with men who are absorbed in their own world of power, greed and control. These power centers lie in all institutional centers who seek their own institutional preservation, whether it be political, economic or religious.  What the religio-political leaders in Jerusalem and the rest of the Islamic Middle Eastern countries see as the omens in the heavens will be played out in their own actions over the next few months. As BibleSearchers and ones seeking to observe the Finger of God moving the nations around in an ever intensive spiral, we will be watching, studying and praying.

Jerusalem, the City of God

Zechariah 12:3 – “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people:  all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Back in 1844 at the climax of the Great Awakening, when  Jesus did not return as the messiah, a great disappointment was felt and most of the participants in this great movement disappeared returned to their former religious institutional churches.  Many asked why?  They continued to search and modify and readapt their understanding of future prophecies.  What most Christians did not count on was that the Lord of hosts was really asking, “Be patient, trust Me and it will be revealed to you but at a later generation.”  My great-great grandfather was a participant of the Great Awakening and now five generations later the revelation of God’s plan is being revealed to his people.

The question begs an answer as to why the early prophetic pioneers such as William Miller, Joseph Bates, James White, Hiram Edson and others were so dedicated in the belief that Jesus the messiah was coming literally in 1844 yet could not comprehend how this was to happen without the Land of Israel, Jerusalem and the whole world’s military complex at Armageddon surrounding a literal city.  They interpreted the coming of Jesus’ coming as literal yet Jerusalem, the Land of Israel and all Armageddon was interpreted as spiritual.  What they wanted to happen so bad also affected their exegesis or proper interpretation of scripture. By why? Consider the fact that the city of Jerusalem was a dusty forgotten city that no nation of the earth wanted in the 1840s.

Consider the facts as portrayed by Paul Johnson in The History of the Jews:

“Between 1827 and 1839, largely through British efforts, the population of Jerusalem rose from 550 to 5,500 and in all Palestine it topped 10,000 – the real beginning of the Jewish return to the Promise Land.”  (Ibid 321)

How were American prophetic scholars to understand Jewish ideals  and the fundamentals of studying the Hebrew Torah an the Jewish prophets when there were no Jews to dialogue with, Hebrew was virtually a lost language, and there was no geo-political presence of God’s chosen people anywhere on the globe.  In fact, in America in 1826, there were only 6,000 Jews in the entire United States.  This population grew to about 15,000 around 1840. (Ibid 366)

Unbeknown to the American prophetic pioneers, the orthodox Jews in the mid 1840’s were not only finding a world-wide political emancipation, but also were beginning to dream of returning to their own homeland and listening intently for any rumors of a coming messiah.

The finger of the Lord was already working in molding the consciousness of  Americans, Europeans and the Jews in order to stimulate the early pangs of restoration of the House of Judah to her home.  This was foretold by the prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah, and Obediah. The world was becoming awake and aware to the fact that the day of the messiah, known as the Moshiach to the Jews, was becoming a reality in consciousness.

Yet one hundred sixty years later, the world is not the same.  Whereas Jerusalem was but a forgotten dusty city with a history in the misty centuries of time, today, today the city of Jerusalem is as rich a cosmopolitan city as any in Europe or America.  Today, the number one city directly or indirectly in the news is the city of Jerusalem.  Today, the geo-politics of the world revolves around the Middle East and the geo-politics of the Middle East revolves around the city of Jerusalem.  Everybody wants a piece of that city.

As strange as it may seem, even though the nations of the earth are lining up to claim possession, Zion and the city of Jerusalem do not belong to anybody on this planet Earth.  It does not belong to Islam, it does not belong to the United Nations, it does not belong to the Vatican, it does not belong to American and it does not belong to Israel.  Zion and Jerusalem belong to the Lord of Hosts and He alone will decide who the inhabitants are who will dwell in His Holy Land.

The Land, the Land!  Everything revolves around “The Land”.  There is one place that the Lord of Hosts calls His capital in this universe and that is Jerusalem.  This is the place where He chose to build His House.  This is the one place where He chose to place His Shekinah Glory.  It is not in London, New York City, Tokyo, Mexico City, or even Washington DC, only Jerusalem.

Isaiah 62:2 - For Zion's sake I will not be silent; for Jerusalem's sake I will not be still, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns.

In the Footsteps of the Master

“The Obedience of Discipleship”

It was the Feast of Passover.  The scene was the Upper Room near the Tomb of David. Rabbi Yeshua finished washing the feet of Peter, sat down, reclined on the couch and said.

John 13:13 – “You call Me Rabbi and Lord, and you say well, for so I am.”

By his example, Jesus, always taught His disciples.  Yes, He was their teacher and rabbi.  He was also their Lord, yet He never insists on having authority over any one of them.  He did not demand submission even though He knew that for them to understand they would have to obey. He left them perfectly free to choose.  They could be independent with their own individuality and autonomy.  They could stand up and leave as Judas the Sicarri did.  They were free to think and to do, for they like Him were modeled in the Image of the Father.

His disciples, like you a disciple today, have every right to rebel against Christ, to spit in His face, to put a crown of thorns on His head and even to crucify him as you cast Him aside in your bid for power and authority and He will not say a word.  I can freely shake my fists at the Lord and cry out, No, I will not, and He will not demand my repentance.

Yet the moment I choose to obey Him and to submit to His absolute authority over me, His life is recreated in me by His redemptive power.  At this moment in time, I acknowledge His authority over me and His complete domination in my life.  Then I will say, “You are worthy, O Lord.” (Revelation 4:11)

What a remarkable transition then takes place.  When I recognize the Lord as worthy, I also become worthy. When I am in the presence of someone who is worthy, someone who is more holy than I and I refuse to heed His words or to obey His instructions, it does not reduce the holiness of Him, but rather it focuses on my ingratitude and unworthiness.  I am taught by the Lord of hosts using people who are more holy and sometimes more sensitive, more insightful and maybe more intelligent so that I will little by little learn to obey and to submit to Him. Maybe it is a parent, a teacher, a classmate, a military officer or a business associate.  Maybe it is a client of our business, a patient in our office or a parishioner in our congregation.  I sometimes have to stand humbly as my calloused behavior is quietly rebuked, my arrogant spirit is subdued and my prideful spirit is deflated.

Then I realize, My Lord is speaking through you to me.  You are a vessel of the Divine and I am the recipient.  Do I ruffle my feathers and angrily cast you aside?  If so I have also cast my Lord aside.  If I humbly and thoughtfully cast away my pride and submit, then I have learned that washing your feet elevates me in the eyes our heavenly Father.

The Lord does not insist in my obedience.  If He did, He would be no different than every other powerbroker in the world today including Satan himself.  Yet, when we realize He is speaking and we instantly obey, at the same time our adoration of Him is elevated ten fold.  He becomes the Lord of our lives.  He is our Rabbi, our Master and the pathway to our Father.

What does it mean to obey?  Obedience does not come by submitting to a superior.  Any soldier feels compelled to submit to his general or military justice is quickly unleashed.  Any employee feels compelled to obey his employer or his pocketbook and employment reputation may be at stake.  Yet true obedience is only possible between equals in their relationship with each other.  A true father would never cast away his only son.  A true friend would never harm his companion.  And so Yeshua (Jesus) stated, “I and My Father are One” (John 10:30) yet He was obedient to His Father.

In our everyday life interacting with each other, we are also interacting with the Divine.  When the Lord of hosts speaks, it does not come with thunder and lightning but by a word with another fellow human.  If I demand authority over you, I also seek authority over Christ.  If I seek to force you to submit to my will, I walk a road that the Lord does not trod.  So by His example we are taught.  We submit ourselves to Jesus as our Redeemer, as He does to His Father, not because we want to become one with the Father, but because we know that we are already a son of God.
