At the time of the Exodus, the Israelites
left a devastated Egypt with a collapsed economy and ruined social culture.
Many Egyptians who had befriended the Israelites watched with the fear
and awe of spectacular series of natural disasters that quickly spread
across the Egyptian landscape devastation and collapse an entire
imperial order. Out of the chaos, the hand of the God of Israel guided and protected those whom He would soon proclaim to be His own.

As the Israelites were leaving the devastated land of Egypt, Egyptian opportunists who were frightened yet moved by the catastrophes that swept across their land, watched with awe as the entire talented working class of Egypt hastily exited from the borders of their land.
This mixed multitude, as they were called, were Egyptians who in their outward façade posed as members of the fleeing Israelite tribes. According to the Chazal (sages of blessed memory), this “mixed multitude” called the “Erev Rav” were not true converts to the God of Israel but superficial Israelites who believed that this god was stronger than the Egyptian gods. They took the opportunity to follow what they believed was the “winning side.” (Zohar I,119a and Pirkei D’Rebbi Eliezer 28) They also saw this was the “golden opportunity” and became what was known as the “Fifth Column” in the Israelite social culture.
Yet, they quickly became disillusioned, wanted to assert authority over the leadership chosen by the Almighty. They were to the first to complain and murmur about any inconvenience that came their way.
We Christians have long criticized the
Israelites for being a complaining and ungrateful group of people. Maybe
we should put ourselves in their place. Let us suggest that we take a trip
waking through the Sinai Peninsula and the Arabian Desert,
not knowing where food and water will come. Are we wiling to put our trust
in the unseeing God of Israel who gave us the promise that He will
provide? Yet we understand that the people called the “mixed multitude” not
authentic 
Israelites. They were called the Erev
Rav.
Interim Prime Minister Ehud Olmert
According to the sages, the Erev Rav were the ones who were responsible for constructing the Golden Calf and they shouted, “Israelites, this is your god.” (Sh’mos 32) To the sages of Judaism, the Erev Rav or the mixed multitude will be a prototype of the future “superficial Jews” who will “break rank” with the guiding lights of the Torah observing Jewish leadership. They have done it in all the past ages and will do so especially at the time of the end. At this time, they will patronize and support the cause of their enemy. Their own agenda, private or pagan, far removed from the commands of the God of Israel in the Torah, will become the source of discomfort and calamity of the Jews for all ages. The rabbinic writings are clear that the Lord criticized Moses for allowing what we call today the mixed multitude to accompany the Israelites in their fateful journey. (Sh’mos Rabah 42:6-7, D’varim Rabah 3:11 and the Zohar II, 46a.) As the Raya M’hemna said”
Raya M’hemna, Pinchas, 246b – “Hashem will seek to avenge the actions of Esav (Esau), Yishmael (Ismael) and Erev Rav (mixed multitude) – the Erev Rav that is mixed up with Esav and Yishmael.”
According to the Zohar, in the time just before the coming of the Maschiach (Messiah), the Erev Rav will align themselves in an alliance with the descendants of Esav (Edom, Rome, the European Union and the Western Globalists headed by the United States) and Yishmael (Arabic tribes and modern Islamic nations) seeking if possible to successfully delay the arrival of the Moschiach. As stated:
Zohar Chadash, Balak, Passage: Darach Kochav Mi’yaakov – “There will be three wars that the Yismaelites (Islam) will wage against the Maschiach.”
In confirmation, the T’hilim states:
T’hilim 2:2 – “The nations of the world will arise…against Hashem and against Moschiach.”
In 1997, Rabbi Nisan Aryeh Novick wrote a very enlightening book called, “Fascinating Torah Prophecies Currently Unfolding.” This book will be the cornerstone of this section as we study into the fascinating prophetically identified leader at the time of the end called Armilus HaRasha, the evil one. He will be identified as being the false messiah or the anti-Messiah. Puzzled by the identity of Armilus, Rabbi Novick writes:
Rabbi Nisan Aryeh Novick – “Until several years ago, I was confused because I envisioned the Erev Rav as a people who were insincere converts to Judaism; additionally, the name of their leader, “Armelus”, sounds Latin – like, Romulus, one of the founders of Edom which is the traditional Torah representation for ancient Rome and its successor, the Roman Catholics and their outgrowths, the Christians.
Recently it struck me; there were two reasons why I was experiencing difficulty understanding this Chazal. Firstly, I was learning a prophetic Chazal before the event actually occurred and the understanding of the specifics of prophetic messages are never revealed to the average person before the events actually occur. (M’tzudas David on Daniel 8:14) The second factor interfering with my understanding this Chazal is that I kept assuming that Armelus was a European.
And then the light of understanding began to shine as the last decade of the 20th century strode upon the political landscape. The central power force of Edom is the Vatican. Today we see the “Vatican” coming to Israel seeking to establish a political alliance with the Jewish people whom they ignored when their revered sages and faithful followers were cast into the burning inferno ovens during the Holocaust. For fifteen hundred years, the chosen ones of Israel were subjected to pogroms, isolation and inquisitions at the hands of the Papacy.
Then the days of 1993 came and the Oslo Accord, with the mantra of peace with security, swept in like a wave of new hope for the Israeli people. These negotiations were between Peres, Rabin and the PLO. In as much as Peres and Rabin were the “Rav”, the political leaders of the Israeli Jews, they are called the “Erev Rav.” When we connect the dots: the Erev Rav are “minimally Jewish; the Erev Rav are the political leaders of the Jews, then the full circle comes around that the leader of the Erev Rav is a political leader of Israel who is minimally Jewish.
What does it mean to be minimally Jewish? The answer fits the mold of the Sabbatean Jew. He is the one who in his heart despises the God of Israel and the “faithful saints” of the Jewish people who are passionate followers of their God, the Almighty One of Israel. The picture even becomes clearer when we understand that as stated above, the Erev Rav will “break ranks” with the Orthodox Jews who follow with all their hearts the commands of the Torah that the God of Israel gave them. The Erev Rav will drive them from their homes, their land and in turn “form an alliance with Yishmael (Islamic descendants of Ishmael).”
Since the beginning of the secular Zionist State of Israel, the two senior government leaders that have been vitally active during the last forty nine years have been Ariel Sharon and Shimon Peres. If we look at the Israeli government, it is called a Jewish government. Yet under the façade and superficial veneer we find that here is a Jewish government that “subscribes to British Law and to Ottoman Law.” As Rabbi Novick pointed out,
Rabbi Nisan Aryeh Novick - “That is why Israel has never developed their own legal system; they’re merely enforcing law that Turkey and England enacted – which, in certain situations, happen to be pro-Arab and anti-Semitic.”
Novick states that the Israeli government over the fifty plus years of existence has created a specific profile as:
Rabbi Nisan Aryeh Novick - “Theirs has been a proxy government run by people who, by accident of birth, are Jewish. They don’t appear to be making decisions that further the advancement of Judaism or that protect Jews. …They certainly do appear callous and indifferent to the pain suffered by Jews.”
Yet some today are questioning whether these government leaders are in fact Jewish. It was Dov Bar-Lieb who posted this blog on Years of Awe blogsite on January 16, 2006 in an article called “Travail of a Shepherd.” He gives insight into the same fact that Rabbi Novick wrote about nine years ago.
Dov Bar-Lieb – “Finally, I will have to write some more about the yichus (family tree or family background) question regarding the "Shepherd’. Is he (Ariel Sharon) a Jew or is he an imposter? If it were my choice, I would rather not open this can of worms. I do not enjoy questioning someone’s Jewish identity, but Rashi’s interpretation of the Targum Yonatan is very clear. The rule of the Shepherd is not considered by the Targum to be a Jewish one. For now I refer everyone to several sources.
Rav Berland of Shuvu Banim Breslov Yeshivah in the Old City has emphatically come out and said that Sharon’s mother did not have a true conversion. His father was definitely a Jew, but his mother has a big question mark hanging over her head. According to Sha’ah Tova’s pre-Pesach 5765 edition, Sharon’s mom could not receive a teudat Zehut (identity card) under the Law of Return because the Chief Rabbinate in 1948 refused to certify the validity of her conversion. The proof is in the pudding.
In the above linked biography of the Shepherd’s life, it clearly states in the
synopsis that he and his parents were ostracized by the community in which
he was born, K’far Melal. (Note: Menudeh means ostracized.) The vast
majority of Jewish communities in the world do not, as a whole, ostracize a
fellow Jew for no good reason. Given that his parents did not do something
horrible in a moral sense, there can be only one reason for K'far Melal's
residents' distancing of themselves from the Scheinermann (now the Sharon)
family. As unpleasant as it is, if Sharon is indeed the Shepherd,
the Targum Yonatan is right again. The "Shepherd" is not a Jew.
I am sure that this last sentence will create a lot of debate, but since the
words of Chazal are at stake here, I am sticking by what Rav Berland has
said. At the very least his relationship to the Jewish people as a Jew is
in doubt, but there will be no more like him. G-d willing, he was the last
true leader of our lowly little state. I pray that we are about to get a
rebirth that is from out of this world.”
In the Raya M’hemna, Pinchas, 246b it describes the Israeli populace as being assimilated with Edom (the Western globalist culture) and the leaders have been assimilated much worse. As Novack continues:
Rabbi Nisan Aryeh Novick – “This Government (Shimon Peres between 1994-97) is just not affected when Jews are hurt or murdered by Arabs, because, by their very nature, there is no real connection between them and other Jews. They feel no special affinity for Jews. They are being completely manipulated by Esav (the descendants of Edom or Rome) Yes, certainly, many previous Israeli governments were pressured by Western countries; even Begin, the opposition leader for more than thirty years, succumbed to Western pressure after he assumed leadership. But every previous government had always felt a connection with Jewish history; every previous government identified proudly as Jews even though they were secularists. Each and every previous government, without exception, felt a strong connection to other Jews.”
Over the decades the people in the land have become progressively more in tune with their God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. At the same time we have seen the leaders of the government departing from their Jewish identity, their Jewish history and their Jewish culture. It was the Rabin government who discontinued the mandated study of Jewish history in Israeli schools.
When Rabin addressed the international community with the acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize for the acceptance of the PLO Agreement of Agreement, he spoke of a “Jewish struggle for Israel that was only seventy years old.” Totally abrogating the two thousand year struggle of the Jewish people to return to Jerusalem, soon after that the arriving international diplomats to Israel were no longer taken to the Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial. Soon the visiting dignitaries to Israel were no longer taken on tours to Masada, that historical landmark that identified the Jewish struggle to keep the Land of Israel 1900 years ago from the ancestors of Esau; the current European world called Edom, the descendants of the ancient Empire of Rome.
Since the days after the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, the Jewish governments have taken on the appearance of being proxy or extension governments of the “American government in the Middle East.” This is possibly why the Muslim now identify the two as the “Great Satan” and the “Little Satan.” The American government naturally is and should be indifferent or not affected by Israeli politics because the purpose of the government of the United States is for its own national interest; to govern and legislate laws for the benefit of Americans. As Novick stated:
Rabbi Nisan Aryeh Novick – “To those Israeli politicians, Jews of Israel are not any more special than any other citizen of the country. That Israeli government had no special connection to the people or to the Land. Never before in the history of modern Israel have captured Jewish soldiers been allowed to languish in Arab captivity for so many years – that Israeli government did not even attempt to negotiate for their release (while thousands of Arab criminals and murderers were being released from Israeli prisons unconditionally)….But that Israeli Government was just plainly indifferent to the plight of Jews – all Jews. And that is why they can offer to parcel off Jewish real estate to Arabs…As a matter of fact, the decisions of that Government are exactly the decisions we would expect the American government to make, if America were actually ruling Israel today from afar.”
The Identity of Armilus – Shimon Peres or Ehud Olmert
According to Mystical Paths Blogsite, on November 23, 2005, the author of “Hints and Secrets on Moshiach” the author points out the following identity of Armilus:
Mystical Paths – “The false messiah discussed in Navi (in the prophets) is Armilus HaRasha ("Armilus" the evil one.) In Torah, particularly in the midrash (midrash is a set of books of 'side' information about the Torah), he is pointed out to be a Jew who will be running the non-observant Jewish government in Israel at the time of the redemption. He works to bring down the Torah via a political war and is responsible for trying to assassinate Moshiach ben Yosef. It is emphasized that Armilus does not know or understand that Moshiach ben Yosef is actually Moshiach. It is stated explicitly in Midrash Talpiot that Armilus is the individual whom the goyim refer to as the anti-christ.
It is also worth noting that the Ramban calls Armilus, "King Peres", which most people have traditionally read as the King of Persia. In light of the fact that by way of hashgacha pratis (heavenly coincidence), Shimon Peres (major long term Israeli political leader) changed his actual name from Shimon Persky to Peres after he had moved from Poland to Israel, I find the Ramban's comment very significant.
In the same context, Gemara (Babylonian Talmud) mentions that in connection to the war of Gog U'Magog, Peres is originally under the control and power of Edom (Edom is usually described as meaning the West, and currently considered to be the U.S.) and then Edom falls by the hand of Peres. Peres then runs the show.
In continuing to develop the multi-faceted image of “Armilius or Armelus”, Maggid Dov Bar-Leib posted on Years of Awe the article titled “The Mixed Multitude's Prince of Thieves and Enforcer of All Outrages”
Dov Bar-Lieb – “If Ehud Olmert
is what and who he seems to be, there will be a lot more to write about him
later. My suspicions about this human scum parading as a Prime Minister became
clear when he decided to execute a full court press on one of his infamous
decisions as Finance Minister within one day of becoming interim P.M. after Sharon's stroke. What was that outrageous decision? He had the audacity after being one
of the leading voices for throwing 10,000 Jews out of their homes this past
summer, to try to tax charitable contributions from overseas which were
designated for the very people that he gleefully made homeless. What a
horrible human being this man is! How did he ever become Mayor of Yerushalayim?

On January 24, 2006, Maggid Dov Bar-Lieb continued a possible identity of Armelius with the study of linguists and suggests how they might identity this evil person:
Dov Bar-Lieb – “I have a sense that it will soon become understood that Armelius
is truly from the Erev Rav. Let us spell his name with the consonants
capitalized. aRMeLiuS. Hashem1.net quotes a medrash in
Sefer Eliyahu on Melachim that the last king of Israel following the strict orders of Malkhut Edom (kingdom of Edom) is a man called H-R-M-L-T (Hey-Resh-Mem-Lamed-Tav).
Another source says that the Hey should really be an Aleph, meaning that
it is really is A-R-M-L-T (Aleph-Resh-Mem-Lamed-Tav). The Tav suffix
amongst Ashkenzic Jews is pronounced as an S, making it A-R-M-L-S. Putting in the vowels
we have ARMeLuS.
Twelve days later the reality of the Jewish destruction of the Jewish settlement at Ofra became a new Jewish legend.
The Expulsion of the Disciples of Elijah from Jericho and the Jerusalem
One of the modern prophetic themes of Jewish prophecy scholars
is the comparison of the expulsions of the Jewish people from the Land of Israel by their own Jewish leaders with the ancient Israeli
prophetic schools of Elijah and Elisha.

This is a prophetic shadow picture of the days of the prophets of the time of the end. The Targum Yonatan ben Uziel highlights the future twin exiles of the disciples of the two greatest schools of the prophets, the Yeshiva Eliyahu (School of Elijah) and the Yeshiva Elisha (School of Elisha)
Let us look again that this Targum and relate it to the possible prophetic future as we are seeing it unfold today in Israel today:
Targum Yonatan ben Uziel
- "And the King of the South who joins with
the King
of the North to cause injury to the inhabitants of the Land (of Israel),
and the Ammonites
and Moabites – dwellers on the plains who cause pain to Israel, and the
exile of the disciples of [the Prophet) Elijah who are exiled from the plains of
Jericho,
and the exile of the disciples of (the Prophet) Elisha who are exiled from the
town of Dekalim by their brethren of the House of Israel, two hundred thousand, and the pain of each and every
bonfire,
and the disaster (caused 
by) Armalgus the Evil One, and the battle
order of Gog, and at the time of that great agony, (the Archangel)
Michael will rise up with (G-d's outstretched right) forearm to redeem."
The Black Force and Horses-Riders at Amona
In an article on August 2, 2005 on the Years of Awe blog site titled, “Mashiach ben Yosef and Mashiach ben David,” we read the words of Maggid Dov bar-Lieb:
Maggid Dov Bar-Lieb – “There
are obviously two legitimate schools of thought: The students of Eliyahu and
the students of Elisha. The students of Eliyahu think that the big battle is
Yerushalayim. The students of Elisha can see the yeshua (salvation)
in Gush Katif. Eliyahu heralds Mashiach
ben David not Mashiach ben Yosef. Messiah ben Yosef comes with the Vav in 
Hashem's name (YHVH). Messiah
ben David comes with the final Hey in his name (YHVH). This is why
at the Pesach (Passover) Seder when Eliyahu finally shows up, the third cup representing
the Vav in HaShem's name has already been drunk.”
So the “students of Elisha” in the yeshivas of Gush Katif in Gaza represent the coming of the Messiah ben Yosef. This first messiah is also represented by the third letter in the Holy Name of the Almighty One of Israel, YHVH. The “students of Elijah” whose yeshivas were in the region of the “city of Palms, called by some authors, Jericho, and others, Zoar, located about four miles away. They are represented by the fourth letter in the Holy Name of the Almighty One of Israel, YHVH.
The first Messiah and the first battle occurred at Gaza. As Dov Bar-Lieb wrote:
Maggid Dov Bar-Lieb – “This is a battle against K'feira (Deniers of Divine Providence)
that wants to keep the
Jews who are prosperous as secular as possible. Gush Katif is probably the most prosperous of the G-d
fearing areas of the Land of Israel. All the forces of evil
in the world want it destroyed. It tears the
deniers of G-d apart that the sons of prophets will be victorious
with G-d's help.
The students of Eliyahu (Elijah) will have their day too in Yericho (Jericho) and Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), very soon.”
The Expulsion of the Jews from the Village of Amona
It
did not take long before the next battle for the souls of the God-fearing
Jews in the land of Israel began. On February 1, 2006, the eyes
of the Israeli “saints” were stained with tears of grief as they watched
their brothers in “high places”, whom they entrusted the governance of their
country “
cross the lines” and begin a campaign of terror against
fifteen, sixteen year olds plus even several MKs (members of the Israeli
Knesset (Parliament) who were bloodied and some in intensive care units.
It was a moment of grief when this writer on mystical paths, a religious Israeli blog site, who wrote the following, “Brother on Brother” on February 1, 2006.
Brother on Brother – “With tears in my eyes I watch brother on brother. The lines have been crossed in Israel. Today it was blood, tomorrow the authorities promise it will be life and death. For what? Oslo, Wye, the Roadmap? What insanity following the PA election of Hamas brings the Israeli government to continue this path of forcefully evacuating land? The Holy Land, the Land of Israel for which the Jewish people have not turned away and yearned for. But I guess they're not great, they're horrible: pain, anger, force, for nothing.
But it's not true. For those
forcing, it's all about force, power, control. Those in the 
West, don't be
fooled by government pronouncements about illegal building, permits and so
forth. In Israel, whatever the government wants to happen is
legal, and whatever it doesn't want to happen is illegal. They'll find
the law, permit or judge to back that up.
For those watching for the Geulah, the battle with the Erev Rav has begun. Gaza was a skirmish, this is the battle, and Jerusalem will be the key. Armilus has revealed himself today. Ribono Shel Olam (Master of the Universe), we knew it would be with tears, but does it have to be with blood? G-d forbid, will it be with lives?”

The message in the minds of many of the Jewish people, who is the real terrorist against Israel today?
The Ancient Capital of King David, Hebron, falls to the Control of the Israeli Government
The ancient and the second holiest city of Judaism, the Jewish
city of Chevron (Hebron), was once the capital of Israel. During the kingship of King David, he and his government ruled there for
seven years. Here were the holy tombs of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs
of the Jewish people including possibly the bones of Adam, at the
Cave of Machpelah. Here Chevron was under siege by the
Israeli Yassam Riot Police using German Riot Horses who “flash-invaded
and conquered” the city of Hebron with eleven Jewish family by the Israeli
expulsion forces.

This was just fifteen days before expulsion of Amona, on January 15, 2006 city of Hebron was expelled. Here in an article titled, “Army declares Hevron closed to the Jews”, the background to the city of Hebron was presented on the Israel National News:
Israel National News – “The army
wishes to expel 11 Jewish families of Hevron from their homes on
Jewish-owned land that once served as an Arab marketplace. Though
many media reports say that the issue involves "Palestinian homes,"
the land was actually 
purchased by the
Sephardic Jewish community of Hevron 200 years ago and transferred to
the present-day Jewish community. Arabs worked there for a time, but did
not live there.
In 1929, Arabs massacred 67 of their
Jewish neighbors living in the Jewish Quarter. The survivors were
hurriedly evacuated, and the 
Jewish houses and synagogues were
abandoned and left uninhabited. In 1953, Jordanian troops assisted
Hevron's Arab population in razing the remains of the Jewish Quarter, turning
the beautiful Avraham Avinu Synagogue into a goat sty.

On part of the land was built an outdoor
food market, which continued to operate, even after the Jews returned during
the Six Day War in 1967. Just over a decade ago,
when Arab-initiated violence in Hevron was at one of its highs, the army
decided to improve Jewish security in the area by clearing 
out the Arab
store-owners in the marketplace. Several years later, after an Arab terrorist
shot to death 10-month-old Shalhevet Pass with a bullet to her head, Jews
decided to renew their title to the land. They began renovating the
stores, turning them into inhabitable apartments, and moving families in.
Eleven families currently live there.”
The Forced Expulsion from Hebron
The Contested Land called the Shalhavet Neighborhood has an illustrious history as reported in the article, “Proof of Jewish Ownership of Chevron Shuk and Shuk Property Timeline.”
Shlomo Wollins – “In 1807, Haim
Bajaio purchased on behalf of
the Hebron Jewish community, a five-dunam plot of land adjacent to the
centuries-old Jewish Quarter, for 1,200 grushim. The deal was witnessed
and signed by no fewer than 22 Hebron Arab notables. This property served Hebron’s Jews and later accommodated the home and synagogue of its chief rabbi, Eliahu
Manni. Following the Jordanian takeover of Hebron in 1948, the entire Jewish Quarter - founded by Spanish-Jewish
exiles in 1540 - was razed to the 
ground. Among the
structures destroyed was the ancient Avraham Aveinu Synagogue.”
The Forced Expulsion from Hebron
Here the story of the Jewish presence in the city of Hebron reminds us of the first purchase of this cave by Abraham when Sarah died at the age of one hundred twenty seven years of age.
Genesis 23:3-20 (parts) – “Then Abraham stood up from before his dead (Sarah), and spoke to the sons of Heth, saying, “I am a foreigner and a visitor among you. Give me property for a burial place among you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight…If it is your wish that I bury my dead out of my sight, hear me, and meet with Ephron the son of Zohar for me, that he may give me the cave of Machpelah which he has, which is at the end of his field. Let him give it to me at the full price…My Lord, listen to me; the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver…and Abraham weighed out the silver for Ephron…four hundred shekels of silver, currency of the merchants…And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah, before Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan. On January 30, 2005, the Hebron Jewish Community reached an agreement with the Israeli government, as reported by Lekarev in the article titled, “Agreement Reached in Hevron”:
Lekarev Report – “After several hours of deliberations, the Hevron Jewish Community and the 11 families living in the disputed area adjacent to the Avraham Avinu neighborhood agreed to the State-proposed compromise. The agreement states that the families will evacuate the apartments on their own by this evening, including their belongings and furniture. The families and the army will retain keys to the homes, but no one will live there for a cooling-off period of approximately two months. The government will then arrange a renting or leasing agreement - after which Jews will once again be permitted to live there.
The terms of the compromise stipulate that the new residents not be those who currently live there, as the government insists that those who moved into the buildings without permission not be permitted to profit from their actions. The government does not dispute the fact that the land is Jewish-owned. Hevron spokesman Noam Arnon was happy with the compromise, saying, "The stolen Jewish property will remain in Jewish hands, and a tough and unnecessary clash has been avoided. The property that was stolen from the Jews who were murdered in the pogrom of 1929 will not be given to their murderers, and we will continue with our holy work of building Hevron."
One of the great observers of Jewish life and the spiritual battles that are facing the Jewish people is the owner of The Biblical Gift Shop and the Jewish Learning Center in Old City Jerusalem is Moshe Kempinski. Here is Moshe’s insightful article written on Jerusalem Insights #550 on February 14, 2006 titled, “The Battle Lines have been Drawn.”
“For decades the religious Zionist community has seen themselves as the bridge between Secular Zionism and Torah Judaism. That model and concept has been shattered in the last couple of months. The very notion that a bridge was necessary between those two ideas was inherently false. It implied there was an ideal of Zionism that espoused the values of a self governing Jewish state on the one hand that needed to be bridged with the eternal ideal of God's revealed message, Torah ,on the other. The truth is that these two are inseparable. Zionism has no raison d'etre and lacks the power to sustain itself without torah. Torah faith on the other hand is inexorably linked with the process of Divine redemption and its ultimate fulfillment is expressed within a self governing Jewish entity.
Yet the events of the last several months have brutally forced a reevaluation and the concept of the "Bridge" is not only wrong it is detrimental to the process. Religious Zionism cannot see itself any more as the Bridge but must focus on its ultimate goal of being the Destination.
The tragic expulsion of Jews in the summer that was followed by the viciously violent destruction at Amona has completely changed some other concepts as well. It has always been the accepted understanding that the struggle for the heart and soul of the people living in Zion rages between the Israeli Left and the Israeli Right. That terminology of Right and Left, at any rate has always been confusing, as in the general world the political Left is usually supported by the poor and the working class while the political Right is the representative of the wealthy and powerful. In Israel the situation is exactly the opposite. The Right represents and is supported by the poor and working class while the Left serves the whims of the ruling elite.
In the last ten years the Israeli Left has been losing moral and political support in this country. Their visions have proven to be fleeting and their parties are dwindling in numbers. In fact the only reason that their ideology still receives the attention it receives is because the Judiciary system and the media in Israel are still in the hands of the old Left.
The Disengagement/expulsion from military sensitive areas without planning or foresight was not a function of ideology or principle. It was a result of the new politically correct stance of "non-ideology”. In this battle for the land of Israel, those faithful to the vision inherent in this land are not facing off against the left anymore. The battle lines have been drawn against a large amorphous non-ideological mass of people who just want to be led in strength. They don’t care where they are being led to or by what is the motivation that guides their leaders. They just want to see "something happening". A large portion of this country is simply tired .They are tired of eternal visions .They do not want to hear of grand understandings from either the right or the left.
The fact that the Islamic world has moved into the phase of the "hidden Mahdi" with all its cataclysmic implications is overwhelming for the common Israeli. All streams of Islam believe in a divine savior, known as the Mahdi, who will appear at the End of Days. He is said to have gone into "occlusion" in the ninth century, at the age of five. His return will be preceded by cosmic chaos, war and bloodshed. After a cataclysmic confrontation with evil and darkness, Muslims believe that the Mahdi will lead the world to an era of universal peace. Most Muslims believe that the struggle in Israel and that in Iraq signal the awaited final victory of Islam. Facing the ocean of hatred that has become Islam is much too overwhelming for most Israelis. It is far easier for this majority of Israelis to attack any group of Jews that stand for an ideology or faithfulness that may stand, stir this raging ocean of hatred.
When faithful Jews use arguments that relate to the eternity or destiny of the Jewish people with the general anti-ideological population, it simply evokes insecurity and fear. The insecurity felt in this larger population comes out of a deep and non spoken realization that many have lost the courage to have faith or to believe in eternal Destiny. The fear arises out of the old Exilic mentality of not wanting to make too much of a stir. The high number of parliamentary seats being predicted by the polls for Olmert's Kadima party does not come in spite of the fact that Kadimah has not outlined their party platform, it actually is a result of it. The majority of Israel's population is made up of people on the verge of psychological breakdown. It is this precarious and delicate state of self that cause the majority of them to reach out for authority figures and strength. For them the belief in the army and in the police is all they have left. For many of them who have lost their faithful belief in their Heavenly Father, will look to any Sharon type to be their father figure.
We need to walk very carefully in this psychological mire .On the one hand we need to do everything possible to stand against the evil and brutality of those criminals in uniform who were ordered " to open the heads of those girls and boys" at Amona. Evil cannot be ignored and the perpetrators and those that sent them must be found and punished. Yet we must be careful not to destroy and attack the last anchors the non-ideological majority of this country still believes in. Just as we were correctly incensed at how the political left hijacked the concepts of "peace" for their own political agenda we must resist allowing the concepts of "Statehood" and the "Jewish homeland" from being hijacked by the self serving campaign manipulators of Olmert's Kadima party.
We have no common ground for discourse with those who decide to or perpetrate violence against brothers and sisters. Yet the rest of this country are waiting to hear strength and vision within the context of what we share, using a language they will understand. Rather than disconnecting from the anchors that give this floundering people a sense of security, we need to give them the eyes to see those anchors in a much more elevated light.
This state was born in miracles. Its military victories continue to defy human logic. Every fruit and flower is a testament to the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. The State of Israel is a vessel that is ready to be filled with holy purpose. We cannot allow it to be abandoned to the self serving interests of small minded politicians. We cannot curse the darkness as HaRav Kook was wont to say , we need to add light.”
The War with Iran (Persia) and the Coming of the Messiah
The nations
of the world stand 
on the brink of a nuclear holocaust with the rise
of the belligerence of the Mahdi (Islamic Messiah) inspired President of the
Nation of Iran, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The Nation of Iran up to the date of 1935 was called the Nation of Persia until it requested all
countries that had diplomatic relations with Persia to call it Iran, which is the name for Persia in the language of Parsi.
The Nuclear Reactor in Bushehr, Iran
This fifty year old leader of the Persian Shi’ite regimen believes that the apocalypse will not only happen in his lifetime but that the ordinary people in the land cannot only inspire but also hasten the arrival of the 12th Imam, known to the Islamic people as the Mahdi. Iran’s dominant sect called the “Twelver” claims that the Mahdi will be the “righteous” descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, Muhammad Ibn Hasan. In the 9th century at the age of 5, he went into “occusion.” He is expected to return in an era of war, pestilence, catastrophes and cosmic and terrestrial chaos. During this time there will be a confrontation of cataclysmic proportions between the spiritual forces of good and evil. The Mahdi will arrive during this mighty battle and herald a world era of universal peace.
According to President Ahmadinejad:
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - “The ultimate promise of all Divine religions, will be fulfilled with the emergence of a perfect human being (the 12th Imam), who is heir to all prophets. He will lead the world to justice and absolute peace. Oh mighty Lord, I pray to you to hasten the emergence of your last repository, the promised one."
As a member of the messianic inspired Hojjatieh Society, he passionately expects that after 11 centuries, the 12th Imam will return as the Messiah of Islam hastened by “the creation of chaos on Earth.” Is it not a surprise that that Ahmadinejad has cleaned the upper echelons of Iran’s experienced diplomatic corps who do not share his messianic fervor that his mission is to introduce this globe to an apocalyptic conflagration?
The members of the American Intelligence Services today are worried and concerned that the nuclear button will soon be in the hands of one who is inspired to annihilate the Jewish people from every inch of land in the Middle East. Many of the people in the Nation of Israel are in a state of terror and the rabbis are counseling them, “Do not fear!”
Of interest that all fail safe plans to conquer and subdue the world come with fatal flaws. It should not pass unnoticed that the Land of Persia is one of the most earthquake prone places on this earth. The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in which there is so much international controversy is sitting over an earthquake zone that has three times had catastrophic upheavals in recent history greater than 7.0: 1877, then 34 years later to 1911 then 51 years later to 1962. It is now 44 years since the last earthquake.
An interesting article in the New York Post on December 30, 2003 by reporter Amir Taheri titled, “Iran’s Political Quake” highlights Bushehr’s vulnerabilities.
Amir Taheri – “The (Bushehr) plant is on the same geological fault line that destroyed Bam. Each year, thousands of tremors of various degrees of intensity are recorded on that fault line. Bushehr itself has thrice been destroyed by earthquake in recent times (1877, 1911 and 1962). It is not hard to imagine what an earthquake that destroys a nuclear power plant could do to the entire Persian Gulf area.
The Germans who designed the Bushehr plant and the Russians who are building it assure everyone that it could withstand tremors of up to 7.2 on the Richter scale. That is almost one degree higher than the tremor that destroyed Bam. Also, the available historical data show that the region has not known tremors of more than 7 on the Richter scale. But there is no guarantee that a higher-intensity tremor will not strike in the future.
The Persian Gulf, through which passes almost half of the world's imported crude oil, is a shallow body of water that consists entirely of the continental shelf. (On average it does not go deeper than 90 meters). The destruction of a nuclear plant by earthquake in so shallow and narrow a waterway could create a disaster many times larger than that of Chernobyl. It would affect eight coastal countries directly, while dealing a severe blow to world trade by halting oil exports for months if not years.
Understand that the tremor that destroyed the ancient earthen city of Bam in 2003 was a 7.1 magnitude quake that killed 45,000 Iranians. The building code has only narrow perimeters of stability. In an era in which several nations on this earth have black-op weaponry such as HAARP and Scalar that can create earthquakes and tectonic plate fracturing, the future of Bushehr looks slim even without an aerial nuclear strike. On December 17, 1990, 70 kilometers east of Bushehr a 6.5 quake rattled the region. This quake followed another regional quake at Darab on November 6, 2005 also in the 6.5 magnitude scale
What is interesting is that the sages of Judaism have written of this day hundreds of years ago. Let us look at a few of these writings at posted on the website of Yiddishkeit under the article, “War with Iran? A Song of the Redemption!”

Ilai: In the time to come, Rome will fall at
the hands of Persia.
Yalkut Shimoni (midrash, compiled circa 500 CE) – “Rabbi Yitzchak said:
The year that Melech HaMoshiach (King Messiah) will be revealed,
all the kings (leaders) of the nations will be struggling against each other.
The leader of Persia (Iran) will contest with an
Arab leader and the Arab leader will go to Aram (the Western Superpowers) to
get council from them.
The leader of Persia will respond and destroy the entire world. All the
nations of the world will be trembling and shaking and falling on their faces.
They will be seized by pains like labor pains. The Jewish people will
be trembling and quaking and saying: "Where can we go? Where can we
go?" And [Moshiach] will say to them: my children, do not fear!
Everything I did I did only for you! Why are you frightened? Don't be
afraid--the days of your redemption have arrived!
Rabbi Yonasan Eibshetz, ztvk"l, (1690-1764) in his Sefer (Book)
Yaaros Dvash – “At certain moment the time will come when Moshiach
should have already arrived but the redemption has not yet come. The
Moshiach will ask how it could be that the time for redemption has arrived
and he still undergoes sufferings? The response that he will receive is
that he must wait for nine months. Why? In
order to wait for the fall of Persia (Iran) at the hands of Edom (the Christian West), and then the final redemption will come.
On December 4, 2005, Rabbi Lazer Brody on Lazer Beams wrote on the days of and its affect on the Iranian and Israeli conflict. In a private interview with Rabbi CAE, a blueblood descendant of three of the greatest Chassidic dynasties in Judaism, he explained that the Disengagement from Gaza when the Jewish were expelled from their homes in Gush Katif, the Jewish Gaza, August, 2005. This was the beginning of the Geula or the days of redemption when the Messiah will be revealed. Could this tragic event actually be the beginning of the full redemption of all people, Jews and gentiles alike?
When we read the Zohar, one of the most revered books of mystical Judaism, it teaches that The Almighty, when He looked in His holy Torah, the world was created. The Torah in reality is the blueprint of The Creator God. According to Rebbe Nachman of Breslev, the Torah is all one needs to understand what’s happening in the world.
What does the Torah have to say about all this? Let’s open our Gemorra to Tractate Avoda Zara, page 2b, and examine the Tosephos commentary, called the “mashcha malchusaihu.”
Mashcha malchusaihu – Persia shall fall into the hands of Rome directly before the coming of Moshiach, for Rome shall rule the whole world for 9 months.”
Prefaced with the strong held belief that their covenant with the God of Israel has never been taken away by away, this places the Jewish people as the spiritual guardians not only of the Torah but as the guardians of the entire world. Yet, their future at the time of the end depends on an important fact: will the Jewish people return to Hashem, the God of Israel, and to His Torah, or not? According to the Jewish perspective and how they perceived their role as the guardians of the “Oracles of the God of Israel” in the Holy Scripture, we discover two scenarios concerning the time of the end and the days of redemption called the Geula. With the pace of events rapidly escalating, these two scenarios are painted in stark reality for the citizens of the world to watch. The timing? In their minds, it will be in the only a few more months.
The “Achishena” or good scenario: If the Jewish people return to the God of their forefathers, then Iran (Persia) will collapse from within without even a shot being fired in a very similar pattern that the USSR and the “iron curtain” collapsed in the early 90’s. According to the Chassidic opinion), the War of Gog from the Land of Magog will be declared over, the Messiah of Israel will reveal Himself to the whole world and the process of redemption for the whole world will begin its final stages.
The “B’ito” is called the rough scenario: According to Rabbi Lazer Brody:
Rabbi Brody - “Gog Bush quick-draws a pair of atomic six-guns at nuclear high-noon between Iran and the USA (with or without Israel), where Iran will be wiped off the globe. The Israel of Sharon and Peres becomes a puppet state of the USA for 9 months, until Moshiach sends them all packing, and Israel renews its glory of old as Hashem's palace on earth, speedily and in our time, amen.”
Yet the powers behind the invasion of GogUMogog or the King of the North are the descendants of the apostate Roman Christian Church fronted by the Society of Jesus, the all powerful Jesuit Order. It is the Jesuits and the Knights of Malta who has infiltrated every intelligence organization in the western world. They command the largest espionage and intelligence organization in the world as every parish priest is their listening ear to the geo-political rumblings on every continent on this globe.
When Pope John Paul II came to Israel with an olive branch, seeking to heal the wounds over the graves of millions of forgotten Jews, what did he want? As documented in the three part series on BibleSearchers on January-February, 2005: “The Vatican Seeks to Reclaim its Own.,” the Vatican first wants the Church with the Upper Room that happens to be built over the recognized Tomb of David. Soon they will want the Temple Mount and East Jerusalem. Here is where the fight for the control of Jerusalem begins.
While most Christian scholars see Rome in its literal reality, the Jewish scholars see Rome in its symbolism. When we analyze this phrase, we must understand that all the Jewish scholars of Torah, whether Talmudic or Kabbalah, agree: “Rome” or “Edom” is symbolized today by the United States of America. This same typology is also symbolizes America or the “Land of Mogog” as being the “Great Horn” of the Hellenistic Ram of Daniel eight and Gog the leader of the Land of Magog as being the president of the United States. This is also consistent with the shadow picture of the modern globalists of Western Europe headed by the great power of the United States called by the world vision of Pope John Paul II as the “Golden Internationale.”
At the same time, the winner of the prize of global domination according to John Paul II will be the Vatican or “Rome”, whom he called the “Black Internationale.” Some of you might ask, now can this be? The current crisis with the new claimants of nuclear power, the mullahs of Iran, is only contrasted in the power behind their throne, the Red Communists, Leninists governments of Russia and China. Pope John Paul II saw them as the “Red Internationale.” As the descendants of ancient Persia, the Red Communists along with the Nation of Iran will come under the possession of the Black Internationale, just as the Red Seal of Revelation will be followed by the Black Seal of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Will we see this as such? Maybe not! It might be safer to say that the Golden Internationale of the western Globalists, Internationalists and Transnationalists will in a psychological and geo-political coup that possession of the Nation of Iran. Understand that the Black Internationale at that time will be the power behind the throne of the waning months of the “He-Goat with a Notable Horn” who took down the “Great Ram with Two Great Horns” in Daniel eight. What then comes is the “Great Horn of the He-Goat” gets even mightier with great power until it is broken.
So we might protest, these great prophesies of Daniel were fulfilled during the imperial era of the Persians and the rising Grecian era of Alexander the Great. That is true, but they were but a shadow picture of the time of the end, so that those with “eyes that can see” and “ears that can hear” will understand the significance of these great streams of prophecy. As the Lord of hosts sent Gabriel, the archangel for the gentile nations to Daniel:
Daniel 8:15-17 – “Then it happened, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision and was seeking the meaning, that suddenly there stood before me one having the appearance of a man. And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of the U’lai, who called, and said, ‘Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.’ So he came near where I stood, and when he came I was afraid and fell on my face; but he said to me, ‘Understand, son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end.’”
Here we are at the time of the end and these great prophetic streams are swirling around us, blending and morphing into an apocalyptic tapestry before our eyes. When these prophetic images passed through the eyes of Pope John Paul II, his eyes were conditioned with the prophetic lens of the prophecies of Malachy that where written about in a BibleSearchers article titled, “Pope John Paul II and the Rise of the Black Internationale.” Here it spoke of the Papal prophecies of Malachy:
The Prophecy of Malachy - In spite of the origin of the prophecies, whether divine or satanic, these prophecies and their accuracy have withstood scrutiny over the passage of time. If there is a final note, he (Malachy) prophesied when he was to die and fulfilled his own prophecy. So we start with the successor of Innocent II, Pope Celestine II in 1143 and in a list of 112 (possibly 111 popes), their characteristics are noted to the last pope of a time of tribulation and destruction for the Vatican at the time of the end. Here were Malachy’s final words, “In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock among many tribulations; after which the seven-hilled city (Rome, the seat of the Vatican) will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people.
The countdown to the possession of this prize is known not only to the Holy See but also to the mullahs of Iran. Here is the battle for the prize; the city of Jerusalem. What we are seeing unfolding before our eyes today is the messianic revival in Iran of the Mahdi, the prophesied future messiah of Islam whom some reports have announced as already arrived. This messianic drive of the Mahdi may take its revenge upon the evil power of the Vatican as the mother Church of apostate Christianity and the civilization that Islam abhors so much today, the culture of the United States as the “Great Satan” and the Western social cultures of Europe. It was the British and the French who dominated their lands with the British and the French Mandates under the League of Nations. They overthrew their Caliphates and divided up their lands. After World War I, at the Paris Peace Conference, the name “Palestine” was first applied to a defined piece of property that comprises the nations of Israel and Jordan today. It was to this Palestine that the British were entrusted by the League of Nations with the British Mandate (1920-1942) to implement the Balfour Declaration of November 2, 1917. It this declaration it pledged:
The Balfour Declaration - "His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country."
If the Islamic rage does make a pyrrhic fire of the Vatican and the city of Rome, out of the ashes may arise the “Black Internationale” and the final seat of ancient Rome in the city of Jerusalem. It will be set up by the “Society of Jesus” better known today as the Jesuits Order. There is a reason today that the Vatican wants possession of Jerusalem. With the beginning of the year 2006, the voice of the Vatican erupted loud and clear. In the three part series of BibleSearchers Reflection, the pathway of the Vatican to take possession of Rome was analyzed in, “The Vatican, the Tomb of David and the Upper Room.”
In their own papal prophecies, the Vatican hierarchy understands fully that the days of the Vatican in Rome are numbered. Yet in their hearts, they believe that they will be victorious in their possession of the whole world, which in part will be true. The imperative to take possession of especially East Jerusalem with the Temple Mount and the Holy Sites of Roman Christianity is becoming stridently urgent. In their papal prophesies they will need a “New Rome” in the “New Jerusalem.” In their minds prophetic utterances of the Book of Revelation will be complete as their amillennial mindset will tell them that the millennium is already here and about over. According to St. Augustine, the Roman doctor of law in his book, “The City of God,” we read an analysis by the Barnes and Noble Spark notes or study guide on “Augustine and The City of God” that states:
St. Augustine and the City of God – “Augustine
presents the four essential elements of his philosophy in The City of God: the church, the state,
the City of Heaven, and the City of the World. The church is divinely
established and leads humankind to eternal goodness, which is God. The state
adheres to the virtues of politics and of the mind, formulating a political
community. Both of these societies are visible and seek to do good. Mirroring
these are two invisible societies: the City of Heaven, for those predestined
for salvation, and the City of the World, for those given eternal
damnation. This grand design allows Augustine to elaborate his theory of
justice, which he says issues from the proper and just sharing of those
things necessary for life, just as God freely distributes air, water,
and light. Humankind must therefore pursue the City of Heaven to
maintain a proper sense of order, which in turn leads to true peace.”
This gives a visible difference between the Torah vision of the future apocalypse and the millennial state and the vision of apostate Roman Christianity. On one hand the prophets of Israel and the Nazarene prophet in Revelation build upon the foundational Torah picture of a Creator and Adam (mankind) His creation, who was created in God’s image. We later read of the same typology called the Husband and the Bride, or Adam and Eve. The prophets also spoke of a Heavenly Eden (Ganz Eden) and Eden of the Promised Land, both throughout the prophets, the Lord of hosts claimed these two Lands as His own possession. Finally there was the Heavenly Jerusalem and the Terrestrial Jerusalem. Here we see a different philosophical base; the Person, the Land and the City. In the prophetic image of the millennium, there will be a “restored man”, a “restored Eden” and a “restored city of Jerusalem.” Throughout the entire Bible, the concept of Eden Lost, Eden Redeemed and Eden restored is a message that was never lost.
